Sold as “Long Hot Peppers.” I’d say they’re somewhere in the jalapeño to serrano heat range, give or take.

    Serranos turn red when they are very ripe. Those are similar to Cayenne.

    They look more like cayenne … serrano may be a bit shorter and plumper …

    I’ll throw in for cayenne… too lean and tapered for a Serrano.

    A Cayenne hybrid most likely. We have some very similar here in NZ called “Wildfire”. Plants are prolific but fruit not as hot as Cayenne. Makes a great fermented sauce though.
