* 2 slices of bread * *Preferably brioche, as it is naturally sweeter and more soft* * 2 egg yolks * 1 tbsp Demerara sugar – OR – brown sugar * 1/4 cup (60ml) milk * *I used skim milk, but whole milk does taste better!* * 1 tbsp maple syrup * 1 tsp cinnamon * 1 tsp vanilla extract * 2 squares of butter * *I usually use one square of butter per slice of brioche* * *One square of butter = Length/ Height = 1 inch |Width = 1/4 inch* * Suggested toppings: chocolate sauce, Nutella, raspberries, blueberries, whipped cream, 1 banana, etc…
Directions
1. Using two bowls, separate 2 egg whites from the 2 egg yolks (put the egg whites aside for a different recipe) 2. Whisk the 2 egg yolks until they become frothy 3. Add in 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 1/4 cup (60ml) milk and gently whisk the new mixture together 4. Dip in one slice of the gluten-free bread (preferable brioche). 5. Make sure to coat both sides of the slice in the mixture! 6. Turn on your stovetop, and in a saucepan on low-heat, add 1 square of butter 7. When the butter in the saucepan begins to melt, make sure to tilt the saucepan so it coats the entire surface 8.
