KUNAFA is a traditional Arabic dessert made with thin shredded or noodle-like pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese, or with other ingredients such as clotted cream or nuts.

INGREDIENTS & PROCESS:
1 CUP WATER
1/2 CUP SUGAR
COOK UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVED
1/4 TEASPOON LEMON JUICE
1/2 TEASPOON SAFFRON ESSENCE
COOK UNTIL THE SYRUP THICKENS
150gm VERMICELLI
BREAK THE VERMICELLI
2 TABLESPOON BUTTER
MIX WELL
RESERVE HALF FOR LATER USE
1/2 TEASPOON YELLOW FOOD COLOR (POWDER)
2 TABLESPOON FOOD COLOR MIXED VERMICELLI
SPREAD EVENLY
1 TABLESPOON RICOTTA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON MOZZARELLA CHEESE
2 TABLESPOON RESERVE VERMICELLI
COOK IT IN MEDIUM LOW HEAT FOR 20-25MIN.
CLEAR THE EDGES
FLIP THE MOULDS
WARM SUGAR SYRUP
CHOPPED PISTACHIO ON THE TOP

  2. Hey Maine ghar mai same process ke sath try kiya bt bake nahi hua 20-25min thn Maine aur 30min rakha phir bhi nahi hua vermicelli kachi lag rahi thi…

  3. Hi, I've tried this recipe. It turned out looking beautiful but unfortunately I'm not able to say the same for the taste. It is not even close to the real thing. Get the Kataifi dough please if u are gonna make a Kunafeh.

  4. Hi.. anyone know how to make vercimili that brown..?? Since here where i live we had only translucent colour vercimili (means it need to be cooked first).. so do i need to fried them with oil or just fried them raw with oil or bake or anything.. the recipe looks promising.. i love to tey this..

  6. Beautiful shape can use soaked over night queso fresco cheese ,drained and patted dry then drilled to use for knafe

  7. Just made this. Wasn't too bad but I ll stick to the traditional kunefe dough ( κανταΐφι ) for the best version of this recipe.
