After watching the buildings develop over the last 2+ years next to my work, we were finally able to check out one of the new restaurants, Kane sushi.
Stopped by for lunch and will definitely be back! The atmosphere is perfect and the food was phenomenal. A bit on the pricier side, but for the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere it was perfect. And you get a lot for what you’re paying for.
I opted for the Tonkatsu and my boyfriend had the sashimi lunch special. Both of our dishes came with miso soup and a fresh salad with tomatoes and avocado. The Tonkatsu came with a side of white rice, an assortment of sautéed peppers, mushrooms and asparagus, sauce, and toasted sesame seeds that can be ground and added to your liking. The pork was thick, tender, and very juicy.
The sashimi lunch special came with a great variety and quality of fish that was some of the best my boyfriend has had in north Austin. His dish also came with a side of spring rolls which were some of the best damn spring rolls either of us have had!!
The staff were very nice and attentive and there isn’t a single thing we could complain about.
Just wanted to get the word out for this little gem! I haven’t seen much/any advertising yet and it is a little hidden. Hope y’all get to enjoy it sometime!!

Place looks nice, but that tonkatsu, salad, and miso soup look pretty standard. How much did that run?
Hanabi/Haru/Ichiumi has/had (I can’t keep track of all the changes) a tonkatsu lunch special bento with soup and salad for $10-15 over the years, looks comparable to what I see here.
Saw this by Nervous Charlies recently. Yikes, $25 and $35 lunch specials…I guess I need to be eating in the suburb’s suburb.

Nice! I noticed the new Wayback Burger is now open at that shopping center last time I drove by. Didn’t know this place was back there. I hope people find it. I don’t see a website or social media for it yet. I’ll just call it the new sushi place over by Stiles Switch!

I see there is a lunch Sushi bar. Is that AYCE sushi for lunch?
That is not enough sauce for that size of katsu, especially if they’re expecting you to mix in that amount of sesame seeds.
