Just got my first Kamado, the Joe Jr. I was really excited to use it but upon taking it out of the box, the top lid was cracked. I contacted customer service and after a week they sent me a replacement. No problem, ready to grill now.
Unfortunately the replacement lid also has 2 cracks in a similar location. Are these grills known to have quality control issues? The cracks are in the ceramic near the lip and I just don’t want it to expand with thermal cycles. I feel like a brand new grill of this price should be free of defects like these. I contacted customer service again to see if I can swap the replacement lid out. Anyone have similar experiences?

  1. FailedTransaction-

Does the crack go all the way through? If not it’s good to go till it falls off. After you use it that will fill with soot and you will never see it again.
