This recipe’s easy. The ingredients:
-A large pot
-5 cups of water
-Tomato sauce
-Olive oil
-Butter
-3 or 4 tomatoes
-Pepper
-Salt
-Fresh basil leaves (dried basil works fine, too)
-Orzo pasta (or if you have taste buds like me, skip the orzo)
Chop the 3 or 4 tomatoes. Put five cups of water into the pot. Pour in some tomato sauce. Pour some olive oil and put about a quarter stick of butter (which my mom failed to let me film, but she discusses it later in the video). Add pepper, salt, and chop up fresh basil leaves and put them in if you have them. If not, dried basil leaves are fine. Put the chopped tomatoes in there and put it on a low to medium heat for 20 minutes.
If you hate life and all people on earth and want to punish them, show your support for the animals that make orzo pasta by putting some into the pot and cook it for another ten minutes.

I like that a lot of your mom's recipes end up being vegetarian, even if it's not "intentional". All those veggies and fruits must be why the Greeks traditionally live so long.

Great recipe. You add some San marzano tomatoes instead of the sauce, keep everything else the same, this is a bangin' tomato soup.

If you want to make another soup, ''avgolemono'' is a classic one. Really good with rice.
Make this all the time. We call it kritharaki which is another word for orzo. Its yum Angelo, its the best but the Greek brand is the best not an Italian brand or any other. Its good with celery carrots and tomatoes i even make it with baby kale or spinach 🙂
