Cannoli are easily one of the most iconic Italian desserts – and for good reason! Who doesn’t love the combination of that crisp, crunchy shell, paired with a deliciously creamy filling? Using my recipe I will show you how to make the shells from scratch, as well as how to make a Sicilian inspired cream filling for these lovely cannoli. Unlike most recipes that call for Ricotta cheese alone, I also use the addition of Mascarpone cheese to truly make these that much more delicious and creamy! Making this filing is so easy, you can even just prepare that alone and fill store bought shells if you’re in a pinch. I know these shells can be quite laborious, as we are making the dough from scratch, rolling it out, cutting it, and then frying… BUT, you will be really glad you did go the extra mile and make the cannoli shells from scratch. You will truly feel so accomplished and proud, and not only that, but I do have a few tricks to make this whole process a lot easier. With a few tools, such as stainless steel cannoli molds, as well as other optional kitchen tools to make the job a lot easier, (like a stand mixer, food processor, pasta machine, and kitchen thermometer), you will see that this recipe isn’t as intimidating as you might expect, and it is quite easy in fact. 3. This is the way i make it but i find Better not to use Icing sugar but rather caster sugar…also Cinnamon Oil instead of the powder and i use Vanilla Pure extract in with mine and last i add crushed Chocolate flakes, i find the chips like bullets. But very good.

  4. Congratulations on a fantastic recipe and instructional video! I used the food processor to make the dough for shells and it worked perfectly and the instructions for using the pasta machine made the whole thing a breeze. My girlfriend insisted I buy the pasta machine at a thrift store a month ago altho' I had no intention of using one until recently when I decided to try my hand at cannolli's. I just took a break from frying up the shells and they are turning out beautifully and the taste is without compare! Thank you sooooo much for showing me how to do this, I'm having a blast! Everyone, follow her recipe and instructions to a T and you will be delighted too!

  5. I will be definitely trying to make these cannolis. Great job with the video and an excellent recipe.

  6. If you don't have a cookie cutter, you can actually just use one of those large, 28 oz. cans of San Marzano tomatoes…… emptied and cleaned, of course. Just use a can opener and remove the top and bottom of the can so all you'd be left with is a hollow cylinder. The diameter of the top and bottom of the can is exactly 4 inches, so it should be the perfect size for the cannoli dowels (tubes/molds).

  7. Thank you for the tip especially using the food processor. It is my first time doing a cannoli shell and I looked at different recipes and yours worked!

  8. Cannolis are my favorite dessert, and I'm pretty picky about them, so I needed to learn how to make them perfect. I followed your video and made them twice now and I must say O..M…G. These cannolis are amazing! Everyone I shared them with also agreed!
Honestly I was super impressed by how they tasted like they came from bakery.
I thought I'd have to try a few different videos to get achieve the perfect cannoli, but this one nailed it!
    Thank you!

  9. I just made them tonight! Thank you they were delicious! How do I store the shells and do they last a month?
My dad and I used to make them And I remember him keeping them in a box. Would it be stored with a lid?

  10. Thank you so much for the recipe! They were a hit- I do custodial work at a hospital and left these in the Nurse's break room… it was like a magic show, one minute the tray was there the next minute the gluttons ate them all! Mind you these were mostly lady nurses. One lady nurse ate four of them!

  11. Glad I came across your video and wonderful recipe. I will definitely try it out. I did make a cannoli cake but purchased mini cannoli shells to fill for decorating the top. The cake was great…..the mini cannoli shells not so good. We just sucked out the filling and threw the shells out! What a waste of money. Good thing they were cheap and the filling was good.
