A tasty red cabbage coleslaw salad that can be served steamed or raw with a lime and apple cider vinaigrette. Red cabbage is a healthy superfood with insoluble fiber, vitamin C and K and inflammation-fighting phytonutrients, as well as other beneficial nutrients. This salad is an excellent side for main dishes. It keeps well for several days, if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  1. Tasty, simple recipe, thanks! I added salt & sugar & used a potato masher to tenderise the cabbage after adding acid & oil… Would be nice with some seeds or walnuts….

  2. Made this slaw. It is soooooooo great! Ate way more than I anticipated! The ingredients seemed questionable because it's so minimalist (no salt?! NO GArlic?!!!…) . But I like simple so I went with it. I even bypassed the massaging (I used to be a sushi chef so I tend to slice very thin) . I may have threw in a bit more acv and lj than prescribed but not much. Based on previous comments with various additional ingredients and tips, I wasn't anticipating a too much, but upon my first mouthful, I was wonderstruck with the tangy, crispy, blast of flavor!

    Simplicity is best!
