Caramel apples are one of the major staples of fall where we live and they’re soooo good!
⬇️⬇️⬇️ RECIPE BELOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️

👩🏻‍🍳 CARAMEL APPLES

8-10 Granny Smith apples
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 ¼ cup heavy cream
5 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla

Over medium heat add all ingredients to a pot except apples and vanilla. Heat through for 9 minutes or until it starts to bubble. Cover with lid for 5 minutes. Uncover and put thermometer in pot. Cook for 7 minutes or until it reaches 240-245F stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool for 4 minutes or until it reaches 190-200F. Stir in vanilla and then you are ready to dip your apples. Store in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

  2. This reminds me of when I was carrying my first child..my daughter. I wanted a candy apple so bad and couldn't find any because it was not the right time of year for them. She was born in August. After I had her I started seeing them in Sept and then I didn't have the craving anymore lol. I didn't know how to make them. My Mom used to make us kids candy apples during the holiday's when we were helping decorate the house. Looks good Shirani. Good idea to store the extra caramel. Aww I hate when things like that happen. I thought that wax paper could be used in the oven once but learned it can't.
