Are you ready for some Turkish flat bread fun? Great, let’s get started!
First off, we have to make the dough.Just mix some salt, sugar, yeast, bread flour, and warm water together and let it sit for a bit.
Then comes the fun part: kneading the dough. If you need to add more water or flour, just go for it. No one’s judging you. You just want to end up with a smooth and elastic dough. Then let it sit for a while, like you’re giving it a chance to rise up and shine.
Now, let’s talk fillings. Cheese or meat? Why not both? Just mix some mozzarella, feta, and egg for the cheese filling. And for the meat filling, grab some ground lamb, a bell pepper, an onion, some cumin, garlic powder, and za’atar. Season it to your taste and let it sizzle away in a pan.
Once you have your fillings, it’s time to shape your pide. Think of it like making a little boat for your toppings. Put the cheese or meat inside, fold it up, and flip it over. Cut a slit down the middle to create an open-faced masterpiece. Brush some egg wash on top and sprinkle some sesame seeds for a little extra flair.
Finally, let the pide bake in the oven for a bit, and voila!
