During my vacation in Lisbon, we visited Pastéis de Belém to try their world famous Portuguese custard tarts. Pastéis de Belém are the original Pasteis de Nata or Portuguese Custard Tarts. This secret recipe is almost 200 years old and is one of the 7 wonders of Portuguese cuisine. The Pasteis de Belém are patented and are the only Portuguese tarts that can be called by that name. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to tour Pastéis de Belém and meet with one of the family members and I’m so excited to share the inside scoop with you!

  1. What a happy start,
    Yummy Portuguese Custard Tarts.
    Right inside the bakery,
    With Chefs and Wendy,
    Savoring delectable pastries,
    Cherished vacation memories.
    💞💞👌👌😋

  2. Wendy, these look delish! If I ever go to Lisbon, I'll be going to this cafe for high tea every afternoon. Thank you for sharing lovely xx

  3. Thank you so much for not only sharing the recipe but also giving us the behind the scenes visual ! That’s a huge bonus . These Portuguese custard tarts are a huge fab 👌

  4. Everytime I go to Lisbon, Pasteis de Belem is always on my list. I always bring pasteis for my friends and family here in US. I told them to reheat it in the oven not in microwave.

  5. Wendy you are the best! You are not only kind to demonstrate the recipe but to go to the extent to explore the production site of these custard tarts and to give your viewers a chance too is just awesome!! God bless you! I've been there too and widh to revisit sometime soon!

  6. i liked the custard more in other places in the center of lisbon because i’m a fan of super yolky custard but the base in belem was unbeatable. i have friends in lisbon and i can sleep on their couch. i gotta go again before they move back to italy in a few months

  7. Who is Penelope? She is laughing too much like a loud hyena! Tell her to be more professional – all that loud laughing is so unnecessary. What is so funny? I watched the whole video and I did not find anything so hilariously funny like she did. She disturbed the whole bakery with her loud laugh. Wendy, who is she? You don't need her.
