This creamy red lentil soup recipe is an authentic Turkish recipe that I learned from my mum. It’s easy and quick without a pressure cooker. I like my soup thicker so I gave the recipe for a thick red lentil soup. But feel free to add extra water to your liking. It is best to decide its consistency after blending it. Check if it is too thick for you just add extra water and bring it to a boil again.

RED LENTIL SOUP RECIPE INGREDIENTS

– 3 tbsp sunflower oil
– 1 onion (chopped)
– 1/2 tbsp pepper paste (or 1 tsp paprika)
– 1 cup red lentils (190g)
– 1 medium size potato (peeled and diced)
– 1 medium size carrot (sliced)
– 1/2 tsp ground cumin
– 750 ml water
