Kanafeh is a old traditional dish from Palestine. Notably the city of Nablus which is famous for its Arabic Styled Cheeses.
Now the entire Levant region makes Kanafeh!
Spelled many ways, Kanafa, Kanafeh, and Kunafeh, this will be one treat you can not go without.

We prepared our syrup prior
1 Cup Water
2 Cups Sugar
1 Tsp Lemon
1 Tsp Rose Water or Orange Blossom Water
And set aside

Filling:
3 Cups Milk
3 Tbsp Flour
1 Tsp Corn Starch
1 Tbsp Sugar

Kanafa Dough Setup:
1 1/2 Cup Shortening, or Ghee, or 3 sticks melted butter
1/3 Cup Mozzarella Cheese. Or more as desired.
1 Box Kataifi or Kanafah Dough

Cook for 25 minutes @ 350°

Note: IMPORTANT STEP
If edge browns a little the bottom is done, now move to broiler for 2 minutes while observing the color only gets golden to dark golden.
