How to make an easy Applesauce from scratch. There is nothing like homemade Applesauce. It’s a great accompaniment to Pork, Chicken, Turkey, Sandwiches and also Desserts, it’s also delicious on its own. Best of all, you can use whatever kind of apples you have on hand to make this recipe.

Makes – 1 3/4 Cups

Ingredients –

4 – Granny Smith Apples (Can be a variety of Apples)
1 – Strip of Lemon Zest
2 Tbs – Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp – Ground Allspice (Can be left out)
1/2 tsp – Ground Cinnamon (Can be left out)
1/2 Cup – Unrefined Caster Sugar (Can be substituted for white Caster Sugar)
1/2 Cup – Water

Store in an airtight container or sterilised jar in the fridge for up to 4 days, or place in the freezer for up to 8 months. *Note – If placing in the freezer make sure to leave a 1cm gap from the top of the container as when its frozen water will build up and pop the lid off leaving it exposed and prone to freezer burn.
