A hanging plaque now immortalizes the spot where Meg Ryan gave her Oscar-worthy performance in Katz’s Delicatessen, whose legendary pastrami we’re bringing to life at home! Nevermind that she’s actually eating a turkey sandwich. This one’s a stretch, folks – but a tasty one!

  1. Put a small weight on the centre of the plastic wrap to ensure the evaporated water drips right back into the container.

  2. I once ordered a pastrami on rye from a restaurant in Arizona, the chef seemed like he was genuinely insulted when I requested mustard and pickles. I said I've never had pastrami any other way and I don't plan on it.

  3. Meanwhile I'm gonna try to cheese it by using pre-packaged, throwing it in a slow cooker, then smoking it the next day

  4. Nah the thickness of the meat and whether you cut it along or against the grain really does determine the flavor

  5. 2.07 so what you're saying that the Powerpuff girls are pickled children?

  6. @babish have you tried Los Angeles Langer’s Deli #19 Pastrami sandwich?? Need the recipe to that Famous sandwich as well please!

  7. I don't know how humanity figured out the method of making pastrami, but I will worship whoever figured it out.

  8. Pastrami is amazing. Grilled pastrami is the best thing ever. Instead of cooking and smoking it, cut it into steak sized chunks and grill it and eat it as soon as you take it off the grill. This is the original way to eat it, the Romanian way, where pastrami is from. It literally melts in your mouth. Lamb is also the best meag to use.

  9. can you over season the mean with the seeds and bay leaves and such? like If you double the spices will it ruin the flavor?

  10. Thanks for the recipe. But the bay leaf kinda ruined the smell, and a little bit of the taste.

  11. This video is garbage since you're siding with antisemitism now. You don't deserve to profit from Jewish recipes.

  12. Katz' must have fallen from grace since the '80s, because I went there several years back and their pastrami sandwich was the driest, blandest, most overpriced meal I've ever had in my life. And the pickles were HORRIFIC.

  13. Awful. Who cuts pastrami that thick? Do you even know how to slice meat? It makes me question the rest of your methods. Maybe go to/go back to culinary school
