  1. Ok John..what's the secret to keeping the meringue from sinking? Mine goes on top light & fluffy..then when I brown it up it ends up sinking & ends up about 1/2'' thick? I do use cream of tartar in it. I also use my own room temp fresh eggs from my "girls" in the coop out back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have a great day.

  6. I remember my first lemon meringue pie. I was 14. The meringue was perfect but the pie didn't firm. It was a delicious refreshing summer drink that my sister and I enjoyed. Lemon Meringue Pie has and always will be my favorite but I will never make it again. I should have been arrested.

  11. What if you fill the entire pie shell with ceramic pie weights? Does that do as good a job of supporting the sides and preventing their shrinking? John, you are a presence at many of our dinner parties– in friends' homes too. Thank you for improving our baking.

  14. I will never use a recipe of yours again. The written recipe always differs from what you say in the video, so wich one is correct? Following your video and trying to get the measurements from the written recipe is so frustrating, I've noticed this in many of your videos, won't make the same mistake again.
