About Pai:

Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the YouTube channel Pailin’s Kitchen.

Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her “playtime” in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.

After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via YouTube videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes.   1. Wouldn't cooking rise with star anis, and serving it with "regular" basil, make it taste more like holy basil? And whilst on the subject, i think "regular" basil is better than holy basil, since it's more subtle in flavour.

  2. It's interesting to me that you didn't immediately put several spoonful of broth on the rice because I personally cannot stand dry plain white rice. It needs to drown in stir fry sauces or broth to be enjoyable.

  3. The number of the dishes that I and my friends or even my family often order is n+1.
    Which "n" is number of people on the table.
    But if your group are full of big eater, I might order 2n 😂

  5. Rumex acetosa 🙂 used in Germany for many dishes. Sauerampfer in German. Its a leaf and its sour.
