  1. Okra: The food of the gods. I love okra fried, stewed, or boiled. This is the first time I have seen sugar mixed with the corn meal.

  2. Looks really good 👍
We use a simple version, of House-Autry Fried Chicken mix and butter milk as the glue, for the dry mix.
First we put into butter milk, then the dry mix and fry.
I love to see old recipes and how things used to be done. Thanks so much for your time and effort in sharing these great recipes and All the while sharing your testimony of your relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have a good day Ma'am from Salisbury N.C.

  3. Your fresh okra looked so big. I have some that are about 10 inches long. Will they be too tough to eat? Should I just use them for seeds?

  4. Love this recipe! The addition of sugar is new to me – interesting! Yours is beautiful, awesome! I'll make it your way, then I'll try it in my air fryer (just for the heck of it!). TFS and stay safe!🌈🌈🌈

  5. Hi Becky, Love your cooking show. I would like to suggest a method to save lots of time on fried foods like okra, squash, fish and other. I have been using double basket deep driers primarily for fish and hush puppies however; with Okra and squash you can bread it and put it all in basket then submerge it all at one time, cook for approx 4 min at 375 then then remove your basket and hang it on the side for as long as you need before you serve it and it will stay hot setting over the hot grease it will all cook uniform to my favorite color which is golden brown. My current deep frier came with two small baskets and one large basket.
I use large basket most of the time. I change the deep frying oil about every 3-4 times.
I thing you will love this method and save you lots of time and washing pans.

  6. How or why is everything a 100 year old recipe? Just asking out of curiosity.
My God lay his hands upon everyone, so that we may have a blessed day.

  7. I love fried okra. All my mom and grandma did was cut okra, dredge in white corn meal and fry in iron skillet with a little salt.

  8. It looks so delicious. You're very good at cooking. That's a good recipe. wow good Information. 😀 🖤

  9. I put my breaded okra in a sifter to shake off the excess flour, about a good handful then add it all in the frying pan. Just enough of okra so I don't crowd my pan.

  10. Does anyone know who the musician is from the songs in this video? It sounds fun and cheerful but still pulls my heart strings. I want more.

  11. I didn't know this way to prepare okra, I liked the idea, and I wanted to try it today. Total success!!!!
I will repeat it for sure!
Thank you for sharing. God bless you!

You're an amazing Patriotic God loving lady! You honestly have no idea how much better I felt after watching you. Praise God, he knows where to guide us. 14. Hi Becky! The other day at the grocery store I was looking for green veggies and I found a pretty pack of okra.
