  1. I just found your channel and I love the videos I have watched so far! I have a question why would you use white wine instead of red wine in this? I have always used red wine with tomato based sauces, but maybe the white wine gives it a special flavor, so I’m interested to try. Thanks for the videos!

  2. Enjoyed this recipe. My Sicilian aunt prepared a hearty winter dish of dried chestnuts and beans, she never shared the recipe, rich, earthy warm spices. I have never been able to find a recipe. Are you familiar with this dish.tia😊

  3. That does look like a lovely sauce. I can’t eat the meat anymore, but I can certainly reminisce about a sauce like that poured over stuffed shells. Yum!

  4. Hello there! Thank you for this recipe. Could you explain the main differences between this meat sauce and ragu?

  5. I’ve only just found your channel and I have learned so much already! I love your helpful tips and tricks throughout all of your videos and your stories too 😀 Thank you so much and I can’t wait to learn how to make gnocchi <3

  6. Hi Giovanna. I have recently found you by chance and subscribed right away. I love Italian food .being Maltese our food is very similar and we as Maltese have adopted and copied a lot of Italian cooking. Watching Italian television since I was a child have made me very familiar to italian food and costumes which I really like. Unfortunatly Although we are very close to Italy I have only visited Sicilia a couple of times and naples once but one day I wish to go further up north. Keep giving us nice recipes and Thank-you. ❤from Malta 🇲🇹

  7. It's so lovely to watch you prepare while explaining the important steps in order to make delicious meals, I feel a warm place in my heart for you, Giovanna! As a grandmother, daughter and grandaughter of italians living in Brazil, I feel connected with your cooking and thankful for your art! Salute e grazie mille!!!

  8. I love bolgnese sauce! Let me ask you as I have never been to Italy, 'WHAT REGION DO YOU THINK HAS THE BEST FOOD AND HEALTHIEST?"

  9. We get to go to Bologna about once a year, as part of Terri's job. (Her company has an important engineering location there.) Last time we went, we got to make Bolognese sauce — so yummy! But I will absolutely try your version. 🙂
As always, my thanks to you and Francesca, and please extend a greeting to Howard!

  10. I'm excited to see your gnocchi video next week. I haven't had great success with it in the past, but you're such an excellent teacher I bet I'll learn how to do it properly!

  11. Hello, Giovanna. I happened upon your channel a short while ago and have been somewhat binge watching all your videos! I enjoy the way you talk and teach as you go. Growing up, my dad always talked about a neighbor that lived in his small coal mining town in WV. A very nice Italian lady who made the most amazing food. I always wished I had an Italian neighbor who would let me hang out in her kitchen and learn how to make everything and who would tell me stories. Now I'm at retirement age and I still wish that!
BTW, I use my immersion blender and meat chopper all the time. I like my ground meat to not have chunks. If I want meat chunks, I make meatballs, LOL!
I especially love when you set the table and sit down with your husband.
    Bless you.

  12. Giovanna—I need your help- trying to make an Sicilian cookie (Vizzin) Nucatoli I tried one recipe and it was a terrible waste of ingredients-do you have a good recipe for them? Much appreciated.

  14. I’m pretty sure I was born in the wrong body & country. I feel it in my bones I meant to be an Italian Nonna because I slice vegetables, especially those carrots, just like Giovanna. Love and appreciate her videos.

  15. Looks like an easy and delicious sauce. I think I could make this. I love to make a large amount to freeze as well. I love your nutmeg grater. So beautiful 💕 Grazie!
