Ingredients:

Filling:

6 Large Golden Delicious Apples or 8 Smaller Ones.
Juice From 1/2 Lemon
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Ground Cloves
Dash Ground Nutmeg

Streusel Topping:

1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Plus 2 TBS. All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
8 Tbs Butter
1/2 tsp Vanilla

**Double streusel topping for large batches **

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees F

Peel and core apples.
Cut into med cubes.
Put apple cubes in medium bowl and drizzle with lemon juice.
Add sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, vanilla and nutmeg to apples, mix well and set aside.

For streusel topping, in a medium bowl, add granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt , vanilla, and butter cut in small cubes.

Use fingers to work ingredients into butter until all ingredients are incorporated into small pieces (chunky sand)
Use pie plate or cake pan and place apples into pan.
Distribute streusel topping over the top in about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch layer. Press slightly.
Place pan on foil covered cookie sheet and place in preheated oven for approximately 40 mins until bubbly and browned.
Remove and let cool on rack 45 mins.
Serve barely warm with vanilla ice cream, and/or whipped cream.
