Hey guys today I’m going to share with you how to perfectly roast a garlic and herb turkey so if you want to learn how to make this super easy and delicious recipe just stay tuned and I’ll show you how all right guys so here I already have all of my ingredients as always

They will be listed in the description box so with that being said let’s prep our turkey all right guys so here I have a previously frozen turkey my turkey is 14 lb and it’s been throwing out in the refrigerator for 3 days you do not want

To brine a frozen turkey so you want to make sure that your turkey is ready for this next step so do it about a day before here I already have my salt black pepper poultry seasoning and of course my garlic powder so I’m just going to

Mix it and for salt I’m using half a teaspoon per pound so I’m using about 7 teaspoon since my turkey is a 14 pounder I’m going to pat dry my turkey just to remove the excess moisture I already removed the neck and the giblets I’m going to be using that

To make my gravy but of course if you don’t want to use them you can always just get rid of it and I’m placing my turkey on a oven rack okay I’m going to be separating the skin from the breast okay so we’re going to grab some of that spice

Mix flip the turkey over get the back okay so now we’re just going to season all of the turkey including the cavity all right so once we have dry bar our turkey we’re going to place it in the refrigerator and allow it to sit for

At least 24 hours all right so here I have a turkey that I previously Brin so now it is ready so we’re going to prep our butter and get ready to roast okay so we’re going to begin by preheating our oven to 450° once we have that going on we’re

Going to prep our butter so here I have our three sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature so that now we’re going to add our minced garlic and all of our fresh herbs Sage Rosemary and thme we’re just going to smash it down and combine

It and we’re not going to add any more salt because our turkey is ready so no more salt is needed so once we have our butter we can get ready to rub it all over our Turkey right so here I have my roasting pan with my celery onion garlic

Herbs and the neck and giblets so now I’m going to be getting my turkey ready so now my turkey is a room temperature so you want to make sure that it is a room temperature so like that the butter can spread nice and even now we’re just

Going to pat dry our turkey to remove any of the excess moisture going to grab our butter add it in between the skin and the breast add a good amount and just massage it so it could go down so now we’re just going to rub the outside of the

Turkey okay so we’re going to tuck the wings transfer it to a roasting rack make sure the wings are tucked we have rubbed the butter on our turkey we’re going to stuff the cavity so I got a whole onion two garlic heads one lime and of course our fresh herbs

Okay so now I’m going to be adding one cup of chicken broth and we’re going to be placing it in our oven at 450° for 25 minutes all right guys so after 25 minutes we’re going to reduce the heat to 325° and allow our turkey to rast until

The thermometer reaches 163° we’re also going to be basting every 45 minutes until our turkey is done all right guys so my turkey was in the oven for 3 hours and 13 minutes it has an internal temperature of 163° so now we’re just going to allow it to rest between 20 to

30 minutes so don’t worry while you rest it will reach an internal temperature of 100 65° all right guys and after 20 minutes we can now get ready for the fun part carving into our turkey so I am so ready let me tell you that it smells delicious

I honestly hope you give this recipe a try of course you know you can play it however you want as a whole like just how I have it here and just wait for your guests to get you know to your Gathering and then get ready but I’m

Just going to get right into it okay so let’s get into our breast oh look at that juicy turkey I am ready all righty guys and now for the best part the taste test now let me tell you guys that I hope you give this recipe a

Try it’s very easy it’s a little time consuming you know but bring the turkey is seriously very important the salt everything just penetrates through the skin and you just have a very flavorful turkey you don’t want all the flavors just to be on the outside of the turkey

You want it to be be through each layer of it so hope you give this recipe a try and enjoy it just as much and don’t overcook your turkey that is the secret to have a very juicy and moist turkey so hope you give it a try cheers and enjoy M

Mhm seriously super delicious it’s so good like I said the flavors is through the turkey not just the outside layer is perfect M all right guys and there you have it at home make a super easy and delicious turkey I hope you guys are enjoy watching this video and if you did

  1. I cook my breast and leg thigh section separately.
The leg thigh back section gets cooked to 165 and the breast section gets cooked to 150.
Both will coast up another 5 degrees out of the oven depending on how hot the oven is.

  2. Looks so yummy! Can you use regular poultry seasoning or fresh herbs instead of the freeze dried poultry mix for the brine? I’ve never seen this in my grocery store. Just wondering. 😊🍁🦃

  3. If someone could let me know, come the Turkey uncovered? Or covered? I’m coming this thanksgiving and want to do the best I can.

  4. Hi Claudia wanted to ask a couple of questions if you don’t mind. 1. Do you wash the Turkey 2. Cover the Turkey when putting in the Refrigerator after Seasoning When Roasting do you cover it. I’m hoping to find your Gravy video. Thank you and Happy Holidays, Irene

  5. Can’t tell if you tied the legs, is it necessary to tie them? Also, do I just butter the top not the bottom?

  6. It's recommended that the white meat of the turkey be cooked until it gets 165 but the dark meat is 170 . This what a lot of people have the hardest time with this because the white meat cooks a lot quicker than the dark. This is why we baste and use butter to slow down the cooking process. I also use cheese cloth on top of the turkey. This will help hold the butter and when you baste . Take off the last 20 minutes and you will have the picture perfect turkey every time. I worked for a restaurant and have to cook over 500 turkeys for Thanksgiving every year.

  7. You never see them Washing it and Claudia says no and covering it in the fridge she says no and oven again no. My turkey is browning really quick. I needed to cover it and mine is stuffed.
