Delicious Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Ingredients:

1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk), room temperature
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 egg, room temperature
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups bread flour
2 ¼ teaspoons bread machine yeast
1 cup raisins (added in when machine says add in)

Add all ingredients, except raisins, in the order given above, or as directed in your bread machine manual. Set the bread maker on Sweet Dough setting.

Add the raisins at the signal, or about 5 minutes before the kneading cycle has finished.

All right welcome back today i’m going to be making a cinnamon raisin bread unlike the cinnamon swirl bread i’ve done before this one doesn’t involve any rolling or anything it’s just going to be straightened machine tastes just as good so we’re going to start out by putting in our liquid ingredients

We’re going to start out with our buttermilk and i’m using buttermilk instead of milk just because of texture and flavor but feel free to use milk our softened butter again just room temperature [Applause] honey and i just use a regular store-bought honey from costco so you don’t need to use anything fancy

Light brown sugar room temperature egg just one salt our ground cinnamon and then we’re going to be adding our bread flour or you can use all purpose if you don’t have bread flour it’ll work just just fine and our last ingredient the active dry yeast we’re going to hold on to our raisins

Five minutes before the kneading cycle is done the last kneading cycle we’re going to add that in so you just got to check your book to see on your particular machine when the kneading cycle is done so you can kind of watch out for it we’re going to be using our sweet cycle

On this particular cuisinart it’s number five and it’s a two pound loaf so make sure that you uh and i’m sorry the one and a half pound loaf uh and then we’re gonna go ahead and choose a light crust and we’ll go ahead and get that started

All right so on my particular machine there’s an alarm that tells you when to add in so i’m gonna go ahead and add in my one cup of raisins if you don’t have an add-in alert you just got to do it five minutes before your kneading’s done and so i’ll go ahead

And it’s gonna start back up and we’ll be back a little bit thank you all right so it went off uh the bread’s done i let it cool for about 10 minutes or so and i’m going to go ahead and get that first slice it smells fantastic you can smell a

Little bit of the cinnamon and definitely the raisins uh this is you’re gonna enjoy this so much i mean you can see the raisins throughout it’s really fluffy that buttermilk makes a huge difference when you’re making your lows it really does make it a lot fluffier and

Airier all right so i’m going to try this out with a little bit of butter and some strawberry jam which is my favorite and we’ll see how this is just a little bit mmm fantastic you’ll love this with breakfast coffee dessert you can taste everything in there

A little bit of the cinnamon the raisins you throw some butter and jam on top it’s fantastic enjoy

  5. I literally just followed this recipe and while baking, it pushed the machine lid open. Any thoughts as to why? I thought maybe too much yeast? But all the commenters seemed to have success. Very new to this bread machine/bread making process…I had such high hopes lol!!!

I was watching how you did your cinnamon raisin so I did it this morning and it started already started but I didn't put the raisin in there so I didn't have raisins but I'm hoping and it still tastes good good with just cinnamon cuz I love cinnamon so I like how you you gave the directions it was so easy for me so thank you

Quick question about the raisins…are you adding the raisins when the machine beeps for add-ins (at the 2:50 displayed time) or 5 minutes prior to the paddle being removed (approximately 2:15 displayed time)? I want to ensure the raisins are mixed in and "whole".
