Hey Y’all it’s Day 23 and I am preparing some of my favorite holiday appetizers. My time living in Italy was one of the best times of my life. The Christmas markets were magical. Every year I try to recreate the tastes and smells of the markets. One of my favorite appetizers is fried rice balls or arancini. Hands down my favorite beverage is Gluhwein (mulled wine).

It’s cold outside okay guys it is almost Christmas and know we always have someone dropping over and you need that quick little appetizer so I made some Roto the other day and I’m going to take that same rotto leftover rotto and we’re going to make some rice

Balls okay I got on my apron and we are ready to roll well up those sleeves that is okay let’s go here I have the mushroom risoto and you can do any type of risoto it I just happen to do mushroom we like mushrooms and we did

Mushroom risoto but you can do any type of mushroom any type of Roto that you like first I have the rice I have mozzarella cheese I’m going to make the balls roll them in the flour then we’re going to come over here to the egg I

Need to beat the egg and then we have bread crumbs and then we fry it so let’s get started with the balls I have my little scoop here and this is the size so that makees sure that they stay uniform and you can use block cheese

This is mozzarella cheese you can use in Block slices or the shredd it and just ball it up and you’re going to put it into the center of the ball so all I did was wedge the mozzarella cheese into the center of the ball and now we’re going to put more rice add

More rice just to cover up that mozzarella cheese form the bowl I’m going to put the ball in the flour and just toss it around in the flour just to coat it and knock off any Excess going to drop them into the egg wash roll them Around I have a few made and now it’s time okay you want them nice and golden brown they are they’re ready the rice balls turned out great they turned out so good I’m still eating so you can even make those up and freeze them and then

Pop them in the hot grease or air fry them or throw them in the oven right before your guests come if you do an air fryer or you put them in the oven you may need to use a spray oil um just little squirt oil I don’t really like

Use the one in the can anymore the aerosol one but the ones that squirt are great guys now it’s time for my favorite holiday treat when I lived in Europe and went to the Christmas markets I used to wonder why are these people sitting outside in the cold and how are they

Sitting out here then they were like oh you need to try this drink it was glue Vine so the drink was glue Vine which is hot mold wine so good I mean it gets down and your cockos just so so good warms you up the spite from the wine being warm to the

Spices so good and so an Italian friend of mine showed me how to make it and I’m going to show you how she makes it and I have made it every year since so here we have all the things that you’re going to need to make the glue V we have the mo

Spices here Mulling spice and got this from World Market it has all of the spices that you really need and you can put it in a cheesecloth or in something that won’t allow it to just get all over the place or else you’ll have to Sie it

Out and this is what the spices look like so here you have cloves cardamom pieces of orange peel all spice and right here I have the star and nie so I’m going to probably put put about four or five of those in there additionally I had three large cinnamon sticks we have

Orange I’m going to slice those up we have an apple we have a little Brandy got a little bit of Brandy this is an apple Brandy and we have some wine wine came from a local Winery and they have wine on tap so good and you don’t have to use

An expensive wine so guys you don’t have to use an expensive wine for this in fact I would say not to use an expensive wine because you’re going to add all these things to it so you don’t need an expensive wine but I would use and

Recommend that you use a full bed wine like a Pino Noir a Mero a dark Rich wine now now I can tell you this too you can also use a white wine I know that they have used white wne they do mold Jin in London a lot of people love Jin there

And they do a mold a hot mold gin and you can do hot apple cider using an apple Brandy same with all of the same type of ingredients okay first thing I’m going to do is to cut my cheesecloth I had some good scissors and I’m going to cut a piece of this

String to tie off the cheesecloth I’m going to just put the spices right into the cheesecloth and tie it up this is optional you don’t have to do this but I just don’t want to have the spices floating all around already washed my fruit and now

I’m going to just make some pretty thick slices I turn the eye on a low temperature cuz you don’t want to boil it you want to just warm this and now I’m going to add in the wine that I’m going to add the fruit in the cinnamon sticks and the spice

Bag I see it simmering if it looks like it’s starting to boil turn your eye down to low now I don’t like it too sweet so if you desire a more of a sweetness to it you can add a little sugar regular sugar brown sugar honey Agave whatever

Sweetener you want to add I’m going to put the top on let it simmer on as low of a heat as it can go for about 15 to 20 minutes this is for you coffee lovers so while we wait on the glue Vine I’ve heated up some coffee we brewed some

Coffee it’s nice and hot see that steam you see it you see it look at that Steam so we’re going to make a kicked up coffee drink to the coffee I’m going to add a shot of CA we’re going to top it with some whipped cream this is an all natural

Whipped cream no preservatives you can either stick a cinnamon stick in it or just give it a light dusting of cinnamon here you go looks like our glue Vine is ready and now I’m going to pour in the Brandy if you pour the Brandy in before it’ll burn off the alcohol so

That’s why I put it in last and now I’m going to let that warm up and then we’re going to ladle it up okay I’ve turned it off and now we can ladle it up you can serve the glue Vine just like that or you can add cinnamon stick and a star

In it’s so good all right y’all I have my drink let me know if you make it if you make either one of these and or if you make the rice balls let me know and if you do let me know how you like it happy holidays it’s cold outside but the
