Our classic reuben sandwich recipe and how to make it yourself. The reuben is traditionally a heated corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on rye bread. We have used our own fermented and canned sauerkraut when cooking these. We also chose to cook them with a marbled light and dark rye.

  1. I see several things that would stop me from making this 🙁 first I've only been to two islands so all that dressing is out and I'm not crazy about dressing to start with 😛 second don't like corn beef much either 🙁 thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Even though my wife has never had a Reuben, you just got both of our mouths watering all the way up here in Ohio. We have got to try this one too!!!!   Good Greif my waist is getting bigger!  🙂  (LOL)
