All the ingredients in my all purpose sweet and tangy barbecue sauce recipe should already be found in your pantry. You should never have to go to the store and buy a jar of bbq sauce. This recipe is designed to save you money by utilizing the things that should already be in a well stocked pantry. This is the flavor I look for in a bbq sauce and this goes well with literally everything

I haven’t bought a bottle of barbecue sauce in 12 years probably you just don’t need to [Applause] Morial Day is coming up so I thought it’s a fitting time to start to talk about barbecue type stuff I’ve got a new grill we’re gonna do a whole unboxing thing of that but to roll into Memorial Day which is coming up quick we got to get started and today we’re making
Barbecue sauce there’s something about it that’s really important right to me it is a sauce that you can make any time that is straight from pantry ingredients that you should already have in your kitchen I haven’t bought a bottle of barbecue sauce in 12 years probably you
Just don’t need to everything that’s in a bottle of barbecue sauce is sitting in your house you just need to put it all together and today I’m going to show you how the way that I like barbecue sauce is I like it sweet a little bit of spicy
In the back and tangy I like it to be a tomato base so it’s a little bit of like a mix between a Kansas City a Carolina type barbecue sauce and for me it’s just my all-purpose utility barbecue sauce that you could whip together in five to
Ten minutes and it’s just always there for you it’s one of those things where I also just never really measure it I make it to taste and with my eyeball so I know what I like barbecue sauce to taste like so by playing around with the proportions and everything I can get it
And tweak it just to the place that I want so I’m gonna show you how I do that today so let’s just get right into it so what I want to kind of show you is like a base kind of barbecue sauce that you can make that I think is just widely
Appealing from here you can sort of take it anywhere you can add like citrus or jams or any sort of crazy stuff like alcohol not gonna use any fresh vegetables or anything this is meant to always be able to be made whenever you need barbecue sauce based off what you
Should be having in your pantry like I said so I just start off in a pan and I’m gonna eyeball about two cups of ketchup that’s about 1 it’s about 2 cups mi ball we’re gonna take about 3 tablespoons of just regular old mustard yellow mustard
It’s me that looks like 3 tablespoons 2 tablespoons whatever it’s gonna be fun what about like around 1/2 a cup of white vinegar or you could use apple cider vinegar that sort of looks like it to me I want about 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce looks like about 1/4 cup to me
Again it’s not gonna be a big deal if you put too much in you can always adjust based on your taste adding a little bit more ketchup to balance out the flavor in the end so again it’s not something you need to really worry about precision wise about 2 tablespoons of
Soy sauce 1/2 that’s another way to do a tablespoon is to just sort of do a 1 count like a bartender would 2 tablespoons of molasses and I’m just gonna use a spoon because this stuff is a little bit tricky to work with the molasses adds a nice color and it’s
Also gonna add some sweetness I don’t like using liquid smoke in any sort of cooking application I think it tastes a little weird so if anything you can use a smoked paprika a smoked salt but if you smell it it actually has a smoky kind of barbecue element to it which is
Really what adds a lot of this flavor about like three tablespoons of your favorite hot sauce one two three this point you have all of your wet ingredients in so let’s just kind of give it a stir you check out the consistency that we’re at and again I
Just used this pot so you can kind of see what’s going on in it use a saucepan or you can use a wide pan doesn’t matter this is a nonstick so I don’t to use a whisk but that’s the benefit of using a saucepan it is whisking this up really well
Give it a taste it’s almost perfect just gotta add a few things like some brown sugar one about a half cup so I’m just going to kind of pinch out a half cup and then we’re going to start to add our spices in and the main ingredient I want
To add is chili powder so I’m gonna start with about two teaspoons of that so maybe that’s two teaspoons right there a little bit of ground cumin so I’m gonna do just about equal amounts of that and since I have a little mound already that’s about two teaspoons I can
Just sort of measure it out next to it roughly and then a little bit of mustard powder maybe 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon of paprika 1/2 teaspoon of coriander 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder then 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne That’s gonna be delicious I don’t even think I have to tweak it at all but this is how I like it if it’s a little too acidic for you then you can add a little bit more honey molasses a little bit of brown sugar if it’s a
Little bit of too sweet you can add some more acidity or some spiciness so more hot sauce or some Cayenne if it’s too loose you could add a little bit more ketchup if it doesn’t taste full enough you could add something like more Worcestershire sauce so you can play
Around with it but like once you have this you can take it in so many directions that are creative but I don’t think you really need to I think this is gonna be perfect it’s got to get it hot get everything melted give it a few
Minutes on the heat and you’re good to go so let’s bring it onto the stove and wrap this up It’s so delicious it’s smooth but it’s acidic there’s a little bit of a spiciness that hits you in the back of the throat from the Cayenne but it’s got a sweetness but it’s not like overly sweet man this goes well with literally anything it’s not missing that smoke flavor and you saw
How easy it was to make this took like five minutes barbecue sauces to me are a lot like a vinaigrette I honestly see no reason why one would ever pay money for it at the store when everything you need for it sits in your pantry it takes a
Few minutes together this is probably gonna last at least a month in the refrigerator airtight no problem so there you have it all-purpose sweet and tangy barbecue sauce ready for ribs pork beef chicken fish whatever you want this is good stuff here I hope you try what’s happening next episode I think we’re
Making coleslaw we might be making ribs I haven’t really figured out yet the way I plan my episodes is very much like musician my plan is set lists always in flux I’m always determining what the best order of things to come out is so I think it might be some coleslaw and then
I think ribs and then I think Alaskan king crab rolls the idea of lobster rolls and make it in a way at home where you don’t necessarily have to kill a lobster or take it apart Alaskan king crab legs are better than Lobster in my opinion it’s gonna be delicious so stay
Tuned that’s all that I have today thanks for watching I’ll see you next time until then take care of yourself and go feed yourself

i cant find Molasses in my country, what can i use for a substituted??
btw love your videos Steve
to add a nice smokey flavor i would use morita chilies. the dried chilies in the pantry should be quajillo, ancho and morita but as most people call them chpotie
Made yesterday, amazing sauce
Fantastic channel . Really enjoy your content, simple direct and beautifully photographed.
Awesomeness!
I add pureed smoked chipotle peppers in adobe sauce, to spice it up for a texmex flavor and some sort of alcohol rum, whiskey, Scotch, even any beer
Anyway to make it healthy without the chemicals in ketchup and mustard?
man accidently found ur fort greene grilled cheese video and from dat only i knew u mean buiznes in the kitchen u r truly a master man i want to eat all of ur dishes
I think you put 1/4 cup mustard and like a table spoon of Worcestershire 😂 lol but looks great
"BBQ sauce, to me, is like a vinaigrette," like that, never thought of it that way! Thanks!
Great video, great song and great recipe
Great looking sauce- I would also add butter
When you were heating that sauce I would have put butter into it just just to give it another delicious element.
My anxiety when he doesn't use precise measurements 📈
Tried your recipe… slightly altered…but awesome…the flavours are layered… great comprehensive video….👍
"Pitzman's Mustard" you said?
I wanted to make ribs but realized i was out of bbq sauce. About to go make this right now. I have everything except corriander. Thx for the awesome video !!!!
I made this 6am for a bbq I'm having at noon. its DELICIOUS. well done. party on my tongue..all kinds of notes. fantastic.
Smart man down to earth I love it
this sauce is amazing!! and literally just things in the kitchen already.. I have tried a few different recipes now this just smashes the lot
This is almost identical to my BBQ sauce recipe and tastes amazing, I add about a half tablespoon of peanut butter (definitely worth trying trust me) and honey, I also do use a liquid smoke from Hawaii and Hawaiians know how to get the perfect complementary flavors (Kiawe liquid smoke) it has very clean flavor
Molasses vinegar brown sugar
What I like about you you’re a good teacher you going to detail you’re not very good at most
2 years later, still my go-to. Love it!
SMOKE BASE 1/2 tomato, 1/4 onion 1/4 corn, [base] add simple syrup. Sub for ketchup. Season to taste. Caramelize/emulsify on low heat. !!!mixing condiments is not chef.
Won’t buy bbq sauce again! Thank you
I just wonder if that is that spicy 🌶 hot but, not to hot , with just a touch of sweet BBQ sauce I’m trying to recreate from my uncles recipe? I just wonder ? Guess I will will try it !
Perfect.
I'm going to make this recipe.
A 50/50 base of apple juice and apple cider vinegar gives the perfect balance of sweetness and tang
🤩 what a lucky find
🐐
I needed a recipe for BBQ sauce for my low and slow country pork ribs I'm making for dinner tonight. Thanks! Always great videos and I always learn something from you!
He's so beautiful it's difficult to focus on the food..🥰🥰❤
How many of us added the song to our playlist? By the way, thank you for the sauce recipe.
I always find myself tapping my foot to the music you choose for your videos 😄 And I'm a metal fan 🤣
SUPER AMAZING
we dont use molasses here what can I put instead
Can it be used for fried chicken?
Just made it!!!! And perfection!!!
I love what says on your Hoodie bro, so true! Love your vids too.
great choice of theme music
Never again will I buy BBQ sauce. Came out amazing today I put some Burban and maple syrup to add a little more sweetness. Love your video's brother.
good video and i dont even have half of that stuff in the house think ama just go buy some sauce lmao
nicely done wll try Thank You
It bad but you can make it way better with much healthier ingredients can of sauce and paste is much better then using ketchup something that’s high in high fructose corn syrup also honey and
Molasses for sweetness nothing else needed
Heinz is disgusting, filled with High Fructose Corn Syrup and artificial color.
This dude hits the nail on the head with this sauce. It really is a fantastic blend that is very easily added to for different preferences. I haven’t bought a bottle of bbq sauce since I watched this video and I thank you very much for it.
