150g | 1cup cooked chickpeas
14oz | 400g | 2 medium size potatoes
1 onion
2tbsp chickpea flour
1tsp dried herbs
salt
1 tomato
1tbsp tomato sauce

πŸ₯£ Sauce ingredients:
40g | 1 1/2 cup basil
30g | 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
3tbsp nutritional yeast
2 garlic cloves
salt to taste
60ml | 1/4 cup water
2tbsp lemon juice
2tbsp olive oil

πŸ§‘β€πŸ³Cooking tips:
❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to the recipe to get your favourite flavour.
❗Instead of β€œbasil pesto” sauce you can have it with dairy-free yoghurt

πŸ₯£ Method:
Mash 150g | 1 cup cooked chickpeas.
Peel and grate 14oz | 400g | 2 medium size potatoes.
Squeeze the liquid of grated potatoes.
Grate 1 onion.
Add 2tbsp chickpea flour, 1tsp dried herbs and pinch of salt.
Mix until combine.
Heat a little olive oil in a non stick skillet and add the mixture.
In a mixing jar combine 40g | 1 1/2 cup basil.
30g | 1/4 cup sunflower seeds.
3tbsp nutritional yeast.
2 garlic cloves.
salt to taste.
60ml | 1/4 cup water.
2tbsp lemon juice.
2tbsp olive oil.
Flip to other side and spread with 1 tbsp tomato sauce.
Slice 1 tomato.
Place over the top.
Spread basil pesto.
Add some dairy-free cheese.
Cook with the lid on for about 5 minutes.

  8. I must have done something wrong because …Mine looked a lot better than it tasted. I couldn’t even taste the chick peas. Mine tasted more like regular ole hash browns but not as crispy as hash browns usually are and with tomato sauce, tomatoes and pesto rather than the usual ketchup. I also think the pesto loses something when you use sunflower seeds instead of pine nuts. Maybe I should try it again sometime and see if I did something wrong.
