Hi you have probably made or ate hos before but only when you eat a really good humus is when you start questioning what you ate before but don’t worry because there is a list this list has all the mistakes that could ruin your perfect homos this is probably the first mistake

Many people make please don’t use canned chickpeas it’s just it’s not right also those jumbo chickpeas are tasteless and will probably make your humus Bland look for this kind of chickpeas preferably organic but usually they have a small kernel and packed with flavor so 400 G

Of that in a big bowl and soak them in water overnight why 400 G because that’s the package size double it triple it it will work the same this step is not very necessary but it will make your life easier when you boil them so after I

Drained and wash them I covered them with water and let them boil now comes the second mistake which is really three mistakes in one actually four in one throughout this process the chickpeas will produce white foam don’t keep it in the water remove it every now and then

Now the chickpeas are soft and you can break them in half no this is only half done see the light color in the middle it’s still harder in the center so you need to keep boiling them but at this point when it’s half done I’ll add half

T spoon of baking soda add it slowly cuz it will make a big and might over spill this will help the chickpeas boil better and they will taste nicer somehow more foam out and let’s check again almost there but there’s still a small white part in the center 10 minutes later and

As you can see now the skin peels easily and the whole chickpea is yellow if you squeeze it with your fingers you shouldn’t feel any resistance now the last part of this 4- in-one mistake is using this boiling water to process the homos just don’t especially if you added

Baking soda now mistake number three which is the most crucial of all if you don’t do this tip you will be banned from the international homos Association forever so I’ll drain the chickpeas then return them to the pot and add freezing cold water yes my cold water is ice cold

So I’m using that then gently massage the chick piece to remove the skin once you do that the skin will float to the top you can fish it out if you like but I like to drain the water on top and the skin will fall on its own repeat for a

Few times making sure to disturb the water to release any skin stuck at the bottom and drain again after four or five times this is how much skin I got out this skin will make your almost grainy and bitter so I’m going to take that out and drain the chickpeas one

Last time then remove any skin I can see by hand you will not be able to remove every single chickpeas skin so don’t stress about it but at at least the majority will be skinless now we’re ready to process the homos but before that you might ask what makes this homos

Palestinian and the answer is this it’s a topping called Daga and it’s so good but also simple half a capsicum or sweet pepper however you like to call it two CLS of garlic 1 tbspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and about 1/4 teaspoon of salt run all these in a food

Processor or a hand blender some like to make it very soft like like soap but I prefer this texture this needed a little more salt and now it’s ready make sure to test my invention at the end of the video and please subscribe like the video and join my patreon page to

Support my homos addiction back to the humus I’ll just remove two spoons of chickpeas aside to use it as topping then in a high-speed blender AKA vam mix I’ll put in the skinless perfectly boiled organic small kernel chickpeas one tiny garlic Club this is optional some don’t like to use garlic and that’s

Fine you can also go bananas and add more garlic if you like the juice of one whole lemon one big spoon of tahini or tahina which is basically sesame seeds paste you can make it yourself if you can’t find it half a cup of water 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/ teaspoon of

Citric acid I added only half the amount of salt and citric acid first brand the hummus in the mixer then when I tasted it I doubled the amount and now it’s perfect we’re not done yet plating is as important as making the humus deep plate few spoons of hos press down with a

Spoon and rotate look how smooth and creamy this is now Sam suak in the middle and on the edges this is a spice made from a flower you can get from any Middle Eastern shop then T in the middle topped with the whole chick pieas we

Took out and then a healthy amount of some actual Olive oil and we’re done make a cat ear with P or S bread tortillas will also work great I like to think of this as the invention I leave for the future Generations try this hus

With some Sriracha on top let me know if you’re a fan I might get a patent for this hope this video helps you love homos even more please subscribe and like the video and thank you for watching

  1. What an illuminating video! "I've been using the wrong chickpeas all this time," I said to myself, scowling. I love the addition of the Palestinian pepper sauce. Praying for those people. Thank you for posting.

  2. Is the baking soda necessary? I’ve heard that boiling baking soda leeches metals out of the pot. Can you just cook it longer without baking soda?
