The Sunday dinner Chef today will be making chabata bread this is video number six I love chabata bread stick around everybody welcome back to the Sunday dinner Chef today we’re going to be making uh a classic one of my favorites uh chabata bread so what I’m

Going to be doing is into this bowl here I’m going to be [Applause] adding whoa make a noise 4 LEL cups of flour now I’m using allpurpose flour you can also use double zero if you want but all purpose seems to work number four all

Right now also to this I’m going to be adding a teaspoon and a half of a teaspoon and a half of salt okay it’s going to go in there and then also in here is a/4 teaspoon of dried active yeast all right to this here two cups of warm

Water is going to be added in I’m going to just stir it around a little bit you get it working now this dough you want to be as sticky as possible and once I get it all Incorporated lid’s going to go on it it’s going to stay

Room temperature fres at least at least 18 hours all right so this is I’m doing this the day before Sunday so what we’re doing here is this we’re going to make this all Incorporated it’s going to get covered and I said for at least 18 hours all right this is about the

Consistency you want very sticky now you can get away with if you did it like the night before or you can make what they call a pish polish is a prefermented dough okay that sits overnight very sticky you can add that into your uh rest of your flowers usually it’s a cup

Of flour a little bit of yeast water and it just sits and ferments and it helps you get to this consistency that you want but you know what we did it overnight um moving it around quite a bit folding it into into itself uh it’s

Got to go a little bit longer but I’m going to cover this and this is now going to sit for 18 Hours okay it’s had enough I’m just going to get that stuff out of there uh now I’m going to cover it now this is going to stay covered right here in the kitchen for up to 18 hours we’ll see you in 18 hours okay now we’re going to start

Bringing this together well look at that very nice pulling apart from the sides okay now using the spatula pulling it away from into itself from the walls there if you can see as I pull it you can see the gluten strands that are starting to connect uh this is getting

Very loose and it’s getting to be where we want it let it sit another half hour and I’ll show you when we come back with that one okay this proofed up nice get a little bit of flour on the hands pull this out and we’re going to set it up onto a

Pan I’m going to rework it again I deep pan and I lined it with some parchment paper and um now what I’m going to do is I’m going to throw a little flour on top of it uh I’m going to put a split in in it and also I’m

Going to season it with my Tommy spice which is salt pepper garlic and onion I just spread on it it’s going to go into 400° oven This baked for about 45 minutes now halfway through there I took some butter and I painted some butter over the top of it normally with your pot bread you just let it go but it was looking a little pale I wanted to darken it up a

Little bit but uh it’s come out I tell you what really the arom is really smell great baked bread Red chabat Bread perfect okay there it is nice you can do this yourself at home it just take got to have a little patience with it that’s all but this is fantastic

Just listen to this crunch delicious so when you wait for something to come out great and it does I tell you what it’s worth the effort for a 5 minute six minute video it took took me a while but I tell you what you see how

It turned out anyway thank you so much for watching I am Tom thank you for watching the Sunday dinner Chef come back next week and we will be making some more Hey listen hit that like And subscribe button I really do appreciate appr it thank you
