I had this meal at a restaurant lately and wanted to recreate it because making *fancy* weekend meals is a great hobby for me. I’ve made scallops about a dozen times and risotto only a couple. Would very much love feedback!!!!!

  1. Scallops look beautiful, but the overall plate is pretty meh. For some reason I can’t stop thinking about Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls when I look at it, which isn’t really the association you want. Serving it in not a cereal bowl would definitely help, although tbh I’m never really a fan of the protein over risotto presentation. Also seems like it’s in desperate need of some kind of sauce, which would also be welcome visually.

    The dill is out of place for me.
    Looks very boring.
    Maybe do abit more with the risotto besides a basic saffron flavoured rice.
    If it tastes nice that’s great but visually not really doing much.

    I think it looks amazing for a home chef. Also a home chef and struggling with plating. Everyone on this sub is hyper critical so take it with a grain of salt, in my opinion. You are clearly talented and will only improve from here. Maybe google examples if you feel like you’re lacking, but keep it up!
