Curry Pork Burgers with Spicy Ketchup
RECIPE COURTESY OF SUNNY ANDERSON
Level: Easy
Total: 15 min
Prep: 5 min
Cook: 10 min
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds ground pork
2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons curry powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 scallions, chopped
2 large clove garlic, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 hamburger buns
1 head butter lettuce
2 to 3 tomatoes, sliced

Spicy Ketchup:
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 scallion, finely chopped

Directions

In a large bowl, using your hands mix together pork, coriander, curry powder, Worcestershire, cayenne, scallions and garlic, seasoning well with salt and pepper. Make 6 even patties and put in refrigerator until ready to cook. Heat a large fry pan over medium-high heat, add oil. Sear patties until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Cook in batches, if necessary. Serve inside hamburger buns topped with lettuce leaf, tomato slice and spicy ketchup.

Spicy Ketchup: In a saucepan over medium heat, lightly saute garlic in butter, about 2 minutes. Add ketchup, red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper. Cook another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in scallions. Cool before serving.

Sunny Anderson’s Curry Pork Burgers with Spicy Ketchup | The Kitchen | Food Network

2 and a 12 pounds of ground pork love me some pork curry powder cuz it’s great in this burger some ground corander and some wher sauce Wier sauce is great because it’s got so many things in it you don’t have to add anything but this and then the coriander man does it

Have a flavorful bouquet of scent it’s just perfect with pork because pork really does needs some help all right so I’m going to get this in here I am a burger person my first job was at a burger spot I was a car hop you

Know you put on the uh roller skates and you roll out to the car and ask them what they want to eat and you put it on their window sill there all right so we’re going to get the pork in right there and uh I’m going to put my green

Onions maybe two or three of them chop them up put them in we’ve got two cloves of garlic and now I know we’re not baking but I’m going to measure all of our spices that are going to go in I’ve got one pork hand right

Here that are going to go into our pork burger All right so we’re going to start with our car or curry powder a lot of times when you do Indian cooking you’re going to see the curry powder and its friend or its family member to me at

Least is going to be the coriander that we’re going to put in next so two tpoon of curry powder and be exact man let me tell you every single spice works it’s like a symphony you know in your mouth they’re working together all right so we’ve got

Two teaspoons of that we’re going to do a teaspoon of our coriander come over here guys and it’s so good really is and some cayenne pepper you know I like the heat okay so we’re going to do a teaspoon of that and you know what some waser sauce is going to go

With that like I said so many things go into a sauce it’s going to taste Great one teaspoon of that all right so now we’re going to add a lot of salt cuz pork needs some help and some freshly ground black pepper all right everything’s in the bowl I am going to make these into patties going on the plate in the fridge and later in

The pan for our pork Burgers going to get my oil on all right get these in a nice sear so the moisture will stay in cuz you know you know pork needs a lot of moisture all right couple of buns look at this baby here I’m going to put these over here to sit for three

Guests or my seconds and thirds and force and then get one onto my bun and just start building my burger look at that I’m going to put on top of that our big old chunk of tomato look at that tomato if I knew the Tomato was this big I’d

Make the Patty a bigger so it would look like so totally eclipsed all right and a couple of pieces of our lettuce and last but definitely not least this is what we’re painting with today man it’s our spicy ketchup to this remember the garlic the crushed red pepper the green onions I

Mean this flavor is just going to pop in your mouth and the cayenne pepper this is really good good you can do so many things with this but today on our Masterpiece and I push it down don’t slide off on me baby going take a bite feels like a dag Wood I got through all layers this is really good curry pork burgers with spicy ketchup it’s a banging Burger that’s curry in a hurry

  1. I believe everyone who starts out working starts training in the restaurant field because they will hire teens and give u a chance. I 💙 a good burger 🍔 too! Love 🌞 Anderson's recipes 😋

  2. 😂 Just a tip building ur burger.
If you add mayo to toasted🍔 bun meat,🥓 lettuce 🥬then tomato 🍅 salt🧂/pepper then the rest of your toppings like ketchup,( look at it as a glue to hold ur other toppings from sliding off burger)🥫, mustard pickles 🥒 onion 🌰 then mayo on top toasted bun! You have a perfectly built burger 🍔 to enjoy 😉!! I have my own way of stacking my burgers 🍔 and toppings. I hate my lettuce n tomatoes under my meats. Your bun gets soggy and it becomes a big mess! And it will fall apart!

  3. Those burgers look so good. You know what I want to know? Every time I watch a video no one has grease in their pan when pork has a lot of grease. How you do that, or do you just cut the part out where you drain it? 🤷🏽‍♀️ just curious.

  4. I just started cringing after she didn't wash her hand after handling the pork, then rubbed her other hand, and proceeded to contaminate everything in sight, from the drawer handles, to the jars, spoons, the whole bowl of salt, pepper mill, and hopefully she did wash her hands at some point.
