Hey y’all welcome to Susan’s country living lost my voice um just allergies M mainly around here um welcome to my channel I’m glad you stopped by today I’m going to be making some applesauce I was uh gifted just a variety of apples some of them are starting to you know

Have some bruises so what I’m going to do is make applesauce so um I’m going to use my instant pot to cook the apples and then I’m going to use my food meal to remove uh the Skins the seeds and all of all of those parts that I don’t want so I’ll go

Ahead and get started and get these apples cut up and I’m going to fill them up to this line um the maximum line and add a cup of water and pressure cook them for 10 minutes so I’m going to leave the seeds in the core if there’s any bad spots I’ll cut

Them out and put them in my discard Bowl for the chickens and I’ll take the stem off and the rest I’m just going to just just kind of randomly chop them up you could peel them if you want to you could use one of those apple cores Cutters that would be

Quick but I’m just going to do mine like this so I have my apples up to the the maximum line and we’re going to put it here in my instant pot I’m going to add a cup of water now I don’t want these to be mush

Because I’m going to put them through a food mill it said to cook them 10 minutes pressure um I’m going to do it five I’m going to let it naturally depressurize for five minutes and then uh release the pressure and I’m going to see what they’re like um if they’re soft

I’m going to go ahead and stop if they are not quite soft I’m going to do another five minutes the same way so I’ll get these on here have the um set it to ceiling and pressure level let’s see we’re going to uh pressure cook just normal and we’re gonna go for five

Minutes yeah these are really soft um five minutes the skin slip right off so I’m going to go ahead and take these out and put them in a bowl to let them cool in the meantime I’ve got my KitchenAid food mill ready when they’re cool enough to handle and we’ll get these processed

Into applesauce and continue so we’re putting through the food mill so that’s did about six cups of applesauce I’ve got another batch in the cooker there and I’ll get it strained up and then we’ll start getting it ready to process okay so I have about eight cups

Of applesauce here I added a teaspoon of cinnamon and a half a cup of just organic sugar and I’m going to bring this to a boil and then I’m going to uh process it in the half paint wide mouth that’s just what I’m going to use and water bath can or steam can

For um be 15 minutes for me depends on your altitude so I’m going to um bring this to a boil and get it jarred up and in the caner and we’ll have some yummy applesauce to take to work for lunch or to just pop open and have with a dinner

Or as a snack so if you have some extra apples I hope you try out this applesauce recipe it’s really easy you could use an immersion blender if you didn’t have a food meal or even a a blender just don’t process it too long because you do want

That CH little bit of chunkiness um there for an adult of course for a baby you could do it even smoother so hope you have a a great holiday season and wish you the best bye y’all
