This is somewhat similar to a recipe we make in my also Slavic (but Ukrainian) family we call yeshnik. Only we use kovbasa (garlic sausage) rather than hotdogs, and far less flour so the batter is more liquid and eggy. We bake it in the oven and serve it with khren (traditionally) or ketchup (modern). 💙💛
Basically a hot dog pancake and I can imagine kids enjoying that. You could use any sausage really I suppose. Cook raw sausages first and then add the batter.

Your sausage pie looks lovely…!
What a delicious, great idea! I bet you could substitute some of that flour with cornmeal and make a corn dog pie! 😁 thanks for sharing 😊
That's so clever! It's like cooking the bun around the hot dogs!
Thank you! These quick, simple and delicious meals are great! ❤
Looks good, and simple to make. I wonder if you used a corn bread mix, how close would it taste like a corn dog, that you can get at a carnival?
i fell asleep when you cut the 💤

Hot dogs… one of the worse foods to eat. They're full of chemicals and all the throw away junk after processing the animal.
