[Applause] Hey y’all today I’m going to show show you three really easy homemade syrup recipes these are my granny’s recipes they have stood the tested time they’ll still be good 20 years from now let’s get started all right the very first one cannot get any easier this is

The one that I showed you in a video not too long ago when I made pancakes um when I showed you how to make pancake mix okay this this was the pancake syrup that I used for that video it is absolutely water brown sugar either vanilla or maple

Extract can’t get any simpler we’re going to get the stove on now and we’re going to go to a medium flame I rarely do anything over medium and we’re going to use a small saucepan and there’s no need to heat it up because the first thing going in the pot

Is water right got that there we need one cup of water when I said easy I meant easy y’all and I need two cups of either white or brown sugar whichever one you have and which whichever one you Prefer right now we need two cups of packed brown sugar if you’re using white sugar you you know obviously don’t have to pack it but I like the brown pack that Down all right just like that there we Go get that in there and then we’re going to give it a gentle stir okay and we want to do a gentle stir not a hard stir because you don’t want that sugar to go up the sides of your saucepan you just want to gently Stir It just like

That and then leave it alone right we’re going to pull it out our spoon and we’re going to just leave it alone we’re going to let it come up to a really nice simmer and we’re going to let it simmer until it’s the thickness that you like then we’ll finish it Off It’s been around five minutes five or six I really should time it but I didn’t but it’s really easy it’s at a a point now where you can’t stir the bowl down and that’s just where I want it so I’m going to turn it off Now and you have two choices in the video I did previously I put a half a teaspoon of vanilla in this mixture and I made a simple pancake syrup today I’m going to make maple syrup all I have to do is not put the vanilla and

Add the maple so we’re going to put a half after you’ve turned it off you put a half a teaspoon of your Maple season see I just I didn’t open it yet y’all hold On and we’re going to put one half a teaspoon of maple extract and now I have maple syrup that you can absolutely smell it is a wonderful soon as it hits that hot syrup it becomes maple syrup it is wonderful the longer it sits the thicker it gets if you made this

Like the night before and put it in the fridge then it would be really thick pourable I like it more like this warm so that’s the way we’re going to have it okay guys this was the main recipe for syrup at Granny’s house this is the one that

We had almost all the time every once in a while she would buy a sorghum syrup from the grocery store called o boy which was you know like a cane syrup and or you know what every once in a while we get real cane syrup you know if she bought some syrup and

Made it or you know bought the juice and made the syrup herself and that was good too we really miss that um now on to number two let’s get started started with number two we’re going to make some blueberry syrup I know everybody loves blueberry syrup same thing again we’re

Going to get a medium flame on our pot we’re going to add the pot okay and we need one cup of water All right we’re going to add one cup of Blueberries all right my blueberries have been simmering for a few minutes so now it’s time to add the brown sugar or white sugar you can use white sugar absolutely but since I already have brown sugar out that’s what’s going In okay we’re going to pack that sugar down so I can get one cup of pack brown Sugar okay we’re going to add our one cup of brown sugar Okay we’re going to give that a stir and then we’re going to leave it alone and let it simmer for probably another 10 minutes all right I’m at that bow that doesn’t stir down so that’s as far as I want to go and I’m going to turn it

Off now it’s going to be runny this this is a runny syrup if you want it thicker you can take you a little bit of that juice and put you some corn starch in it and stir it around and it’ll make it instantly thicker or you can put it in

The fridge overnight and it will get thicker but right now to finish it off I’m going to take one teaspoon of lemon juice ah one teaspoon of lemon juice we’re going to put that in there there and our syrup is done and it will last at least a week in the fridge if

You don’t use it all at once but generally around here we use it all it only makes about a cup and a half all right at that point I’m going to just move it right on off over here onto the other side of the stove and we’re going to start number three

All right same thing we’re going to start number three with a medium flame slide that pot over there all right this one is called cinnamon cream syrup honestly this is my favorite by far this one you can use for your pancakes you can put it in your

Oatmeal you can put it on grits Cream of Wheat this one is the bomb that’s why I saved the best for last and we’re just going to put it right on in the pot if you need to take notes grab you a pencil it is one cup of white

Sugar a half a cup of Koo syrup or corn syrup I just happen to have Koo let’s get the rest of that out of there with a spoon cuz we not wasting it all right there we go and a four a cup of water and a half a Teaspoon of cinnamon mine was a little rounded cuz I really like cinnamon little over the Top can give that a good stir and we’re going to let this come up to a slow Bowl okay we’re going to have an interlude Randy was tasting my cinnamon cream syrup and he was like oh my gosh now I want some oatmeal so now I’m going to have to make some oatmeal and pancakes all right here is your rolling bowl that will not stir

Down so we’re going to turn that off now now we’re going to add a half a cup of evaporated Milk after it’s turned off we’re just going to give that a little stir make our pancakes and our oatmeal and we’re ready to Go You got the microphone I have to stay next to you Ry couldn’t even wait to do a taste test he’s already ate half of the half of the blueberry over half of the blueberry half the cinnamon most of the cinnamon now I’m going to tell you I

Went ahead he said go ahead and make some oatmeal for that cinnamon oh y’all I missed that you put some butter on that yet oh yes I did oh so good yep I might got to stop him from eating bye

  1. Goooooood frozen morning it's-9 but windchill is -33 more like normal winter lol. Good day to learn syrup! Got feeling your going make it look super simple. Thanks for doing these. I know this started for the grands but it's been really nice to learn new things from you.

  2. Hey yall, she said if you need take notes grab paper. Shhhhhhh little secret? If you become a member they write it down for you and you can print it super easy to tuck in a recipe book. It's like 2.99 and when I joined I got thinking what do I waste 2.99 on a month that I can put on this instead? I'm happy I did it!

  3. Would def like to hear more about granny and maybe see her pic someday! She sounds lovely def a good cook and a good woman just like Tammy. These syrups look amazing now I'm hungry lol

  4. The cinnamon would probably also be my favorite. Cinnamon type desserts are my favorite kind of desserts! Anything with cinnamon I go crazy over lol

  5. Items that will last indefinitely in your long term food storage – brown sugar, real vanilla extract. People can make syrup for a long time to come.

  6. Wow I did not realize it was that easy, not to mention always have water, brown sugar and different extracts on hand. Thanks Tammy! Tammy do you think you could do a video on pepper jelly? I think that is what it is called. great on a ritz with cream cheese and the jelly of course lol.

  7. Thank you for these3 syrup recipes. I will make all 3 flavors but not at the same time. I wish they would keep longer than a week.💙🙏
