Little bit different you know what I mean we add that probably the last you know maybe 15 20 minutes but I just want to give this a good mix I’m going to put the lid on and then I’m going to set the time now getting ready to set this timer

Right listen we going to go 3 to four hours you can do 3 to four hours on high or you can do 7 to eight on low super easy me I’m going to go four hours on high so we hit power High cook we get my

Time up put it on 4 hours and here start okay folks now listen we got 1 hour till this timer is finished right I don’t know if I said before but like an hour before it’s completely done for your 4 hours right so that means hour number

Three this what we going to do we going to add one cup a long grain rice there we go you see that right there real easy and listen I probably should have said this too listen crockpots slow cookers all of that they designed to hold the heat in do you know

That that every time you lift this off you might as well say you lift it up and you want to do a little stirring add 30 more minutes onto your timer right it’s all designed so that it’ll work right and keep the heat in there so I can meet

That time so now I’m going to go ahead and open it that’s the first time I open that up get my spatula oh my goodness look at this right here now I know we got a little bit you know a little broth and all of my tomatoes and paste and all of that

Everything is Maring together right now we going to come with my one cup with that long grain right now I’m just going to do it just like this now what I want to do is make sure it’s all completely submerged this is what you want just one cup I

Know it disappeared and all that but you know how rice do it’s going to swell and get down and do its thing now I’m going to set a timer check this out I’mma set a timer for one more hour right then when that’s done let me put this top on

When that’s done right we’ll let this finish when that’s done all we going to do is add that shrimp we going to let it soak for about 15 minutes then we going to put this in a bowl and we F to eat folks 4 hours and went by now I’m going

Timer goes off you know what it does it automatically sets up the warm those are the best ones now the first thing you want to do is you want to make sure you get all of this in here and to be honest with you you just want to make sure that

Top off already done that you guys can see I gave it a little bit of a stir I’ll do it again you can see this right here I done brought that shrimp up but you can see the shrimp is cooked look at that right there you see that steam

Coming up off of it I know it ain’t right folks now let me go and put some of this in the bowl let’s go ahead and taste this Hey so look I’m not going to be long winded but I’m going to go ahead and do this since I left the tails on I’m going to go ahead and just grab one of these you see that right there we folks cheers y’all this is fire

  1. Looks good. 3:57 you add TWO cans of tomatoes but your written recipe says ONE. As you put two in, am I to assume that we use TWO? ?? ??? Also you use THREE peppers but the written recipe only says ONE. I think you need to have a few words with your editor/YouTube poster etc. Poor attention to detail.

  5. I'm so confused. On the website. Your step-by-step talks about adding shrimp and such. Your "recipe card" at the bottom though has no shrimp at all. It has lobster. It says it's for Lobster Risoto instead of the Jambalaya.

  7. I don't think I've ever really heard of pre-heating a slow cooker/crockpot. Usually if I use a crockpot, I'm aiming to just let it cook for several hours and, at most, I'm just losing out on a few minutes of it getting hot.

    But can I see a need to pre-heat a crockpot? Sure. If there is like a type of pastry-style dish (like a pizza) that I'd be using the slow cooker for, where I need all that heat to be circulating inside that well before the pastry goes in, then I'd probably pre-heat it. But for something like chicken for enchiladas, jambalaya or soups? Nope. Just throw the cooking ingredients into the crockpot, stir it all up, set the temperature, the time, and then just walk away until an hour or so before it is ready, just to test for seasoning or possibly to add some extra bits that need to go in at the end.

  9. Why did you use chicken breast and not boneless skinless thighs? I'm terrified to use breasts in a slow cooker recipe. I always use thighs even if the recipe calls for breasts.
    PS: I never even thought to preheat a slow cooker. Why? I put the food in and go to work and come home when I come home. I'm almost always cooking for longer than the recipe calls for (which is why I use thigh over breast meat). That's the big plus of slow cooker cooking: forgiveness for leaving the food in longer to cook (unless you use breasts instead of thighs).

  10. I know you're the expert, but leaving the lid on the can is dangerous, especially scraping the contents out and barely missing your hand on the sharp edges. Pro tip to remove completely for safety. You have a lot of viewers and don't want them picking up bad habits.

  11. Love me some Jambalaya, I usually go the Cajun route and leave out the tomatoes, but ain't nothing wrong with some good Creole Jambalaya. Also if you don't care for rice, you can always use pasta and make Pastalaya which is just Jambalaya made with pasta instead of rice, I usually go with Penne pasta when I make that, but you can use whatever kind you want.
