Banana Split Cobbler Hot Version of a Summer Classic Dessert. It tastes like the bottom of the banana split bowl.
We are going to shoot our next video LIVE this evening around 6:15pm ET. We have been snowed in since last Sunday and got another round of ice and snow in the last 24 hours. We are expecting temperatures below 0 this weekend so we are here until early next week. I have a wonderful treat to share with you that will bring the taste of Summer into these frigid winter days. #cobbler Dessert #banana #strawberry #chocolate #pineapple #cake #treat #dessert #snack #baking #winterstorms #snow #savemoney #extremecold #challenge #severweather #food #cooking #idea #recipe #viral #video #howtomake #howtocook #learning #learntocook #learntomake #peace #hope #love #PutGodFirst #thehillbillykitchen

Oops okay okay I think we got this here well good evening folks is everybody warm I hope and snug welcome to my worst nightmare I have uh seriously this is probably my biggest anxiety here is cooking on live video I have made some huge messes in the past

But because we’re snowed in we can’t do a regular video and edit it and get it up for y’all so what we’re doing is I’m all set up have everything set up just like I do when I normally shoot videos for y’all so that Alex can edit it

But I’m streaming what I’m doing so y’all are going to get the full thing um and I’m going to start the video with the introduction that you normally see and then we’re going to make a treat that is going to bring all the warmth of Summer’s favorite treat to you in this

Blizzard in a different form and I don’t know if anybody’s guessed what we’re making yet by looking at the ingredients but you’ll know here in about two seconds ready hiy folks and welcome to the hillbilly kitchen today we’re making a banana split cobbler now this is the perfect wintertime dessert because it

Brings that nostalgic flavor of Summer’s favorite treat into a warm cobbler this is super easy and I had to make some substitutions because I’ve been snowed in for 5 days um the ingredients are basically the same as in banana cobbler and banana Co or the ingredients are basically the

Same as in a banana split this is why I have an editor uh anyway the ingredients are basically the same as in a banana split you need pineapples strawberry chocolate some walnuts bananas and we’re using vanilla cake instead of vanilla ice cream and you know you can top it with some whipped

Cream or some chocolate syrup or whatever the only other thing you need is a cup and a half of butter that’s or the only other thing you need is a stick and a half of butter which is about 3/4 of a cup and I’m going to melt mine in

The microwave now you can cut it in little pieces to go on top but I’m sticking mine in the microwave I hope y’all can follow this all right now my first substitution I had to make two of these cuz you’re going to bake this for 45 minutes in a 350° oven I

Only had one can of crushed pineapples you need a can of crushed pineapples I had one can of pineapple chunks now there’s slightly more pineapple and slightly less juice in the crushed pineapple but I crushed my chunks up and I’m going to start with that and it

Doesn’t matter this is a cobbler just about anything will work in a cobbler you can make all sorts of substitutions um get that pineapple out of there pineapple is like my favorite the next substitution I had to make because I’m snowed in I did not have strawberry pie filling so I’m using

Cherry pie filling you want a can of pie filling though and you could use if you don’t like strawberries you can use cherries lots of folks I know have strawberry allergies um you could even do another flavor in it if you didn’t want the strawberries or the cherries but classic Banana Splits

Generally have strawberries if you’re stuck snowed in in a blizzard use what you got actually if you just need a dessert in a hurry use what you got and you could also use um frozen strawberries in this but for some reason I didn’t have any frozen strawberries

Either uh you would probably want to soak those in a little sugar to get a little juice in them and uh that would bake up fine I’m sure I mean it’s a cobbler all right so let’s pretend we have pineapples and strawberries the next thing we’re going

To do is oh no next thing we’re going to do is our bananas now you want three or four bananas R bananas they don’t need to be overly R but but green ones don’t tend to do as well let me get this butter for it drives us

Bananas we don’t want the the Beeper beeping there driving us crazy just peel your bananas and then we’re going to slice them in rounds I tell y’all what one of the biggest problems with being SED in for a week is my dad blame trash can is overflowed I’m going to have to take

Some of it downstairs and just leave it in bags in the basement because the trash can is just too full I don’t know what to do with it and I think pretty much the whole country is kind of experiencing some extreme weather right now not just

Us um this is like way more than what we’re used to we got a foot of snow on Monday and then last night we got ice all night long and drizzling rain and then it turned into snow again I mean it we just have a crazy amount okay just peel your bananas and

Slice them up and rounds and like said three or four bananas I kind of tend to go with more fruit anytime I’m making any kind of a cobbler so three would probably do it and once you get your bananas sliced up just throw them in a layer here

And I will have the ingredients for this I’ll list the ingredients that it’s supposed to have instead of my substitutions but you can see the substitutions and uh everybody who is watching this before we get together and Alex can edit it will see all of the mistakes I normally make that she makes

Me look good when she edits takes them all out I actually have her she’s on here too but she’s on my phone over here not at the house with me hi everyone see she’s on here I’ve got her sitting right here beside me okay now see I’ve got more bananas than

I need but that’s all right you can’t have too much fruit okay and another one of the things Alex said it’s Alex see me wash my hands off okay now once you got your layer of bananas we’ll get this out of the way too oops this one’s almost done let me see

Here oh yeah that looks good I’ll go ahead and just turn that off all right once you got your layer of bananas then you’re going to do your chocolate and I’m using about half a bag of mini chocolate chips the mini ones melt better you could also use you know

Regular ones you could chop up a couple of candy bars if that’s what you had and you can adjust the chocolate to taste more or less but you know it’s supposed to taste like a banana split now the next thing is some chopped walnuts now if you don’t like walnuts or

You don’t like nuts at all leave those out you don’t have to have them but a banana split usually has some chopped walnuts and something that I used to do too is I would drizzle our banana splits with a little honey and you could do that in this cobbler you could drizzle

Some honey in there that’s about enough of them I didn’t measure them I maybe used a third to a half of a cup but it’s to taste now the next thing you need is you need a cake mix a vanilla cake mix white cake mix yellow cake mix one of these cute

Little cake mixes with the uh confetti in them is Fun the Funfetti ones and the one I have in the oven I made in one of those giveaway pans and I’m going to run it next door tonight and it’s 18° to my neighbors because they have also been

Snowed in for a week and um there’s a a girl over there who is a teenager and I’m sure she’d probably use some of this but anyway the next thing we’re going to do is we’re just going to dump our cake mix on top of here and you noticed I not

Mixing any of this you don’t mix it just layer it oh goodness dump it in your bowl not all over your counter it looks like we are stuck until early next week here all right once you get your cake mix on there like I said you can use vanilla

Yellow white the confetti ones even a banana cake mix um I know uh uh Duncan Hines I think it is is teamed up with Dolly pardon and they’ve done a banana cake mix so you could use a banana cake mix in this if you wanted

And again with the hands okay now if you melt your butter instead of putting it in pieces you can add a little extra vanilla into your butter which I’m going to do because like William at vanilla feeds tomorrow says good vanilla makes all your desserts better so

All right now this dish is just about too small for this but this one’s going to be in my refrigerator probably until folks get over here early next week and I can warm it back up and share it with somebody just drizzle that butter all over the top uhoh uhoh

Uh-oh okay there we go and see Alex will edit that out the folks that aren’t watching in this live won’t get to see this this is definitely a full pan and this is a 9 by3 pan it’s just a little 9 by3 pan this is one of those carry along

Pans and I thought it would be good in this one you really don’t need to mix this up this much because it would fit in my refrigerator easy but um it’s a little bit small all right well anyway you got the idea put your butter on there now we’re

Going to put this in a 350° oven for about 40 minutes 40 to 45 minutes until it’s all nice and golden brown and bugly and I’ve got one in the oven that’s all done so we’re going to see what it looks like as soon as I clean up my butter heaven sakes Mickey

Thank goodness for paper towels that’s all I got to say sometimes when I am making a video I use a whole roll of paper towels I make so many messes all right clean my pan up here just a little bit and see Alex will take all this out

So folks that aren’t watching this live they won’t get to see any of this mess won’t you Alex oh yeah I’m gonna get it all nice and pretty she makes me look really professional y’all see what a mess I am now so you can you

Know this is the best job in the world though so I don’t mind I do want to let everyone know if they can hear me that I’m trying to answer as many comments as I can because of course mom’s unable to do it right now she’s making a

Mess next time you make a mess in the kitchen you can say well at least it don’t look like that mess Becky made oh everyone knows though that the messiest things are the best things oh yeah that’s true um all right Alex I wish you were here

Cuz I need something to well I don’t need anything to set this other one on it won’t hurt nothing all right let’s see what this okay now back to the part that’s okay now we’re going to put our cobbler in the oven in our preheated 350° oven for about 40 45 minutes until

It’s nice and golden brown and bubbly now let’s see what it looks like when when it’s done y’all see how that works ain’t that cool oh my my and through the Magicka TV there is a finished Banana Split cobbler now what Alex will do while I’m

Doing all this she’ll go to the overhead Shot Show the finished Banana Split cobbler and then she’ll come back to it when I get my hair out of my face here and I get turned back around I’ve got it all over me I’ve got butter all over

Me oh my security light outside just came on because the wind’s blowing so hard it scared me to death there’s a light shining through the window it’s already dark here okay and this is what it looks like when it comes out of the oven it is nice

And golden brown and bubbly and you can see the strawberry cherries that’s coming up through it the bananas will be nice and soft and that flavor will be in there and of course we added a little extra vanilla in our butter so that flavor in

There and I do want to give this just a minute and I’m going to show y’all what it looks like before we end this so you can see and uh I’m sure the neighbors won’t mind if there’s just a little piece gone out of it I’ll run the rest of it over

There I got this bowl in uh Gatlinburg and I’ll have to look up the name of the place where I got it but it was made by local artists if you go outside of Gatlinburg you can find the stuff that’s actually made by local artists not the

Stuff that’s shipped here from all over the world and uh this is a handmade piece and they have whole sets of this but it was very expensive because it’s a one of a kind thing so I got a piece but I’ll see if I can find

The name of the place where I got it and uh share that in the description it’s really pretty I like it uh let me see here you probably want to set let this set for 10 15 minutes anyway to kind of let it stiffen up a little bit

But and we I’m not going to keep y’all on here 10 or 15 minutes and now I have faced my worst fear I have actually cooked live on video I do want to thank all y’all for joining me I hope everybody stays warm and safe during this because like I said

I know it’s all across the country oh goodness oh my word look at that all the goodness of a banana split only it’s warm and you can squirt a little whipped cream on top of that make you some fresh whipped cream or some ready whip let me see here I

Think I’ve got some ready whip Alex actually left it here thank you Alex you’re welcome I have get some that cake I have ready whiping Banana Split cobbler I’m sorry you’re not here I’m sorry I’m not there too and look at that oh my gosh it’s summer and it’s steaming and we’re in

The middle of a blizzard so I hope you’ve got the stuff that you can put this together tonight maybe or sometime this weekend and if you can’t get it done this weekend maybe you can get it done you know a little bit later what did I do with my thing

Uh this would be a really good recipe see she cuts all this out too this would be a really good recipe for any winter potluck if you wanted to take it to a church dinner maybe Valentine’s Day dinner this would be good for sleepover youth groups I mean anything like that

Cuz it’s so easy to make you just layer it throw it in the pan and layer it melt that butter pour on top of it and you’re good to go uh you know summer in the middle of winter and it’s hot so it’ll warm you up I mean everybody likes a banana split

But having a hot banana split in Winter what could possibly be better hang on oops lost my mic Alex will take all this out let me make sure I didn’t no I didn’t bump it off see I just look stuck my face right in the camera she’ll take all that out and

I still got the wrong piece of paper so anyway we’re all snowed in here it’s cold it’s cold all across the country there’s people been stuck in their houses for over a week not just here I know but other places too and Melinda did this meme I know some of

Y’all might have seen it already I used it as the thumbnail on this live but I wanted to share these verses with you before we leave tonight let not your heart be troubled that’s John 141 I will never leave thee that’s Genesis 28:15 I will uphold thee Isaiah

41:10 I Am With You Always ever even until the end of the world that’s Matthew 28:20 and I know a lot of folks are a little uneasy like I said we’re going to have subzero temperatures here again we have snow and and then ice and then snow

On top of ice and getting out is just about impossible and that is kind of stressful but the weight of the snow on our roofs because it’s not something that houses and garages and barns are engineered for here we don’t get this much you know it’s it’s a lot of stuff

To to stress over and just trying to stay warm is the power going to go out because of all the ice and snow but these verses kind of let us know that God is with us always he’s going to be there he’s going to take care of us

Through it and you know we’ll be all right it’s going to melt the sun’s going to come out next week it’s going to be raining in nearly 60 here so praise the lord it’s only temporary y’all stay safe stay warm if you’re joining us in the

Live stream thank you so much for being with us tonight and if you’re watching this sometime later on thank you so much for being with us in the hillbilly kitchen we really appreciate all of you watching and being here we appreciate your support please share our videos with

Your friends if you haven’t already don’t forget to click like And subscribe before you leave and until next time remember to put God first good night everybody thank you so much for being here bye guys thank you I really appreciate everybody being here live this really is

My worst nightmare now you know what a mess I make good night now I got to figure out how to end this there we

  1. I'm sorry the boxes were in the way. This is not a camera angle I am used to so I was unaware it was blocked. Once Alex edits the regular video you will have a better view.

  2. I truly liked those first few seconds showing you putting down the chair – Content providers are people too!

I mention you from time to time. I talk about you always putting the basic recipie in the description then talking all through your videos about add-ins, substitutuons, and alternatives. Even while snowed in, you've stayed true to character by going live and using what's in your larder!

  3. Around here, the local food bank periodically gets a mountain of bananas. Enough so, that at the beginning of thier week-end they will sometimes even invite the greater community to take at will from thier outside tables rather than let them go to waste. This is a nice, something-else to do with bananas! Often the bananas have sime brown spots on thiernpeels but the bananas themselves are only medium ripe too.

  4. Just found your channel! I'm in Alcoa, pretty close to you. I love cooking and can't wait to binge on your videos!😊

  5. I really enjoyed the live and feeling like I’m sitting on a stool talking to a friend while she’s baking!! Felt very welcoming and cozy. Love your videos. If you don’t make a mess, it won’t taste right 😂. God bless and stay safe. ❤🙏👣🙌😋😋

  6. What a Hot, YUMMY MESS❤
