[Who comes all the way to this far country] [and looks for Korean food?] [Here’s red soup] [and there’s even rice inside] There’s even rice inside, look. [“Hangover soup of Turkiye”] [Beyran] [Every time you eat] [it’s amazing] “It’s sad that every time I eat, the food is disappearing.” [Then…]

[“Order more!”] Order one more for me, please! [After a passionate meal with a spoon] [Bread…?] [Now wipe with bread] [So refreshing] [The day you need refreshing food…] The day you need refreshing food so badly, then this, Beyran is what you’re looking for. [Istanbul / Hungry] [Early evening…] [(But hungry)] Today I will…

Today I will have delicious dinner for sure. [Always excited when] [I visit restaurants!] [(Crowded) / (Crowded) / Through the staff and customers] [Through the staff and customers] [Jongwon] [Jongwon is coming] [Taking off his sunglasses] [Looking through the menu] [(What are people eating here?)] [(What about them?)] Okay. I should eat that one. [(Satisfied)]

[(Satisfied)] I’m here for that. [Merhaba(Turkiye Greeting)] [Welcome of the shirt troops] [Entrance in the welcome of the shirt troops] [(The sound of sitting on a chair)] Chairrrrr. [(The sound of sitting on a chair)] Chairrrrr. [Drink water first] This place looks… Very… It’s obvious. This place must be a delicious restaurant.

This restaurant must be delicious. The ambiance itself is saying it. And we are… We came early for dinner. What time is it now? – What time is it now? – Now it’s 6. It’s early for dinner. But the restaurant is already full. The owner told me that.

The owner said we shouldn’t come past six. Because there will be too many people. The large restaurant is full from early evening. [It’s full / (People are even waiting!)] And while coming here, [(His skill)] I saw what people were eating [(His skill)] and I could decided what to order. I see.

Because people are all eating the same thing? Beyran! We should order Beyran. Shall we order Beyran then? [Order Beyran first] [What is Beyran?] [Looks alike! / (Spicy beef soup) / (Beyran) / They are different though] In fact it’s more like hangover soup [More like hangover soup] than spicy beef soup. After drinking,

The day after drinking… People here eat this a lot in the morning, right? In the eastern part, they do. [Hangover soup of Turkiye!] Hangover soup! But I didn’t drink last night… [(Now?)] [(Including alcohol)] I want to order this and that. But I can,t… Right? I should focus on Beyran, right? [(Sad)]

[But everyone is eating Beyran] All Beyran, really. [(Sad) / (Just eat Beyran)] [(Change of subject)] Here also have the family restaurant vibe. [(Still didn’t give up)] Well… [(Still didn’t give up)] Well… Yes… [(What are they eating there?)] Yes, there are family visitors. [(What about there?)]

[(What about here?) / Well… Family visitors…] – Right. – Family visitors… They eat kebabs, too. [(Mouthwatering)] [(Seduced) / Cig Kofte?] There is Cig Kofte too. [Eagering / Badly] What about Cig Kofte? [Eagering / Badly] May I order it too? [(Say you don’t know)] Do you know what Cig Kofte is?

[(As you wish)] I don’t know. [(Happy)] You don’t know what that is? [A nice excuse] Then we should order it. [Kofte : a traditional dish of Turkiye that is baked or fried meat mixed with various spices and vegetables] It looks like meatballs. But in Kofte, there’s no meat.

[Jongwan and vegan dish?] Is it vegan dish? – Is this vegan food then? – Yes. Vegan. But this is delicious. Is it good? Wow… – Wow… – It’s a wrap. There’s also Kofte with meat in it, right? (There is) But it’s hard to find one.

– (There is) but it’s hard to find one. – It’s hard… Because it’s raw meat, it goes bad quickly. That’s why Cig Kofte doesn’t have meat these days. The dough is made by hitting it with hands a lot. As you know, I am a meat lover. But Cig Kofte is really delicious. It’s really good with a wrap. [(Smacking / Lips)] [Try to keep the promise] I was only going to eat Beyran.

[Try to keep the promise] But when I looked around, everyone was eating Cig Kofte. [That means…] [That means… I need to eat it too] [Food is now being served / (Salad first)] [Beyran’s partner 1 / Arugula] It’s Arugula. Should I eat this separately or add to Beyran?

A bite of Beyran, and then a bit of Arugula. Like this. [Check] Don’t add it to Beyran? [Now Pide(bread) is served] [Beyran’s partner 2 / Tirnak Pide] Tirnak Pide! [[Hello again)] We already learned this. [Learning Tirnak=Nail] – When you make the dough, we do it like this. – They were fingernail marks.

[Learning Tirnak=Nail] Tirnak Pide! [Learning Tirnak=Nail] – Tirnak Pide! – Toonak Pide! [Learning Tirnak=Nail] – Not a bidet. [Learning Tirnak=Nail] Pide! [Learning Tirnak=Nail] – Toonak Pide! [Learning Tirnak=Nail] – Toonak Pide! – Tirnak Pide [Let’s try what the pide here tastes like] [Wow…] It’s just baked. [Correct!] Wow.

It’s delicious just eating this without anything else. [This is like…] [Eating only rice before main dish is served] [Which means rice itself is so delicious / (So excited)] [The first food is here] This is Cig Kofte! Look! [So excited] Look at this! [So excited] [So excited] Look at this!

I can see the handprints. You have to see the handprints. Look at the handprints. [Cig Kofte] [Let us show him eating to you] [1) Put Kofte on lettuce] [1) Put Kofte on lettuce] Wrap it like this. [2) Add lemon juice] [2) Add lemon juice] Lettuce! [3) Wrap it] [3) Wrap it] Like this.

[4) Into his mouth] [(Means tasty)] [Forefinger up when it’s tasty / {Forefinger up)] [Forefinger up when it’s tasty] This is so interesting. This restaurant is good. – This restaurant is good. – So delicious. – This restaurant is good. – Tastes so good. – This restaurant is good. – So good. So tasty, right?

[(Amazed)] How can it taste like this? [(Also) / (Amazed)] How can it taste like this? [(You try it too, director)] [(Touched)] [(Amazing!)] There’s no meat in here. [While talking] And this is… [The shirt troop is coming] The process of making this is very difficult. [Jongwon surrounded by them] Dough making and…

[Jongwon surrounded by them] Oh. [Ruch what he was eating into his mouth…] [Finally] It’s here! [Beyran served] Wow. [Beyran] Can you see this meat? Can you see? There’s rice inside, look. Right? [Familiar to Koreans] Look, there’s rice inside. [Red soup and rice that Koreans are familiar with] Look, there’s rice inside.

[Red soup and rice that Koreans are familiar with] Let me try it first without lemon juice. [Restaurant evaluation / Step 1) Swearing lightly] What the heck? [Restaurant evaluation / Step 2) Suspicion] [Restaurant evaluation / Step 2) Suspicion] No, wait. [Restaurant evaluation / Step 3) One more spoon]

[Restaurant evaluation / Step 4) Swearing for real] This is f***ing good. “This is…” “So delicious…” [Did you see the four steps?] [Qualified] “This is, for real…” What… What was that I like? What we eat as hangover soup in the morning. That’s… Iskembe! – Iskembe! – Right, Iskembe! I love Iskembe.

And this is way better than Iskembe. [(Look at that)] And this is way better than Iskembe. [(Look at that)] [It’s too early to be impressed] [There’s sauce that will make it much more savory] This is garlic. [A spoon of garlic sauce first] But it’s already too delicious. [(Can it be more delicious?)] “Wow…!”

[Add a spoon of garlic] [Add a spoon of garlic / (Good) / (Good job)] Is this chili oil? Yes, it’s fried chili peppers in oil. Wow, this is real! [Add a spoon of chili oil!] [Mix well] “I see why everyone is “I see why everyone is eating a bowl of this.”

This is fantastic. Not a bowl! – Not a bowl! – Then two bowls? How many bowls of this do you usually eat? I usually eat two bowls of it. Every time I visited here. [(Perfect)] Every time I visited here. [Ah…] [I need another bowl too…] But I can’t… I can’t… really… explain…

I can’t… really… explain… the taste exactly. [How can I say…] [Searching the best description] Think of famous beef-bone soup restaurants in Korea. You know the smell of meat soup. [The smell of beef-bone soup] And plus, [Beef-bone soup / Ox knee soup] add ox knee soup with it. It’s like cream soup,

But without the smell of butter or wheat. Mix all those delicious things and boil. [Which means tasty] Also! I can tell this restaurant is very popular because this is meat that has just been boiled. [Which also means delicious] [Now time to eat] I am getting sad. The soup is disappearing as I eat/

[However] [However, can’t stop eating…] [Now craving for bread] I’m craving for bread now. [Eliminating / (Bread)] [Eliminating] [Eliminating / (Bread)] [Bread blackhole] [Need rice badly] It will go well with rice too. [Do Turkish…] [Do Turkish…] eat rice too? We don’t. We eat bread. Like this. We do this.

[(Proud)] Then I was doing right! You were! It becomes tastier. This is instinct. I just did this instinctively. [Instinctively figure out how to eat deliciously] I didn’t add lemon by the way. If this didn’t taste good, I’d naturally add lemon. I’m nervous about adding lemon. I’m afraid it will ruin the taste.

[That’s why he added lemon late] [It’s good!] I didn’t have to. [Add more lemon] [(Whispering)] It’s delicious even if you add vinegar. [Excited by the new tip] One is lemon and the other is vinegar. That’s grape vinegar. [Grape vinegar] [Added] [What will it taste like this time?] [(Realization)] I knew it.

“It changes depending on what you put in” [Lemon] [Grape vinegar] [Garlic sauce] [Red pepper oil] [Goes well with various sauces and seasonings] [A lot of charms] There’s a saying in the eastern part. “Beyran is a meal, not corba(soup).” The soup in Turkiye is called ‘corba’, right? Yes, ‘corba’. And it’s not corba?

It’s treated as a decent meal! Right! Turkish people always eat another food after eating soup. But Beyran is high in protein and calories. And makes us full. “So it’s a meal, not just soup.” [(Respect)] [Then] [Hearing that…] [(He’s not upset)] Order this more please.

[If it’s delicious, you need to eat two bowls of it] Why don’t you guys eat one more bowl? Order one more. [Washing the dish] [(Looking around)] [Is there nothing to eat?] [Then I need to drink Ayran] After eating Beyran, you stopped eating Cig Kofte. There’s no space for…

[(Need to get some space)] Cig Kofte. It was really delicious, for real. But this… This is so delicious. [(So impressed)] I should tell people not to eat anything else but eat two bowls of this. [(Did you hear it, myself?] Let’s order Cig Kofte too. [No, I need another bowl of Beyran]

Finally my first Beyran is served. [(Always like it’s the first time)] [(Confused)] When you eat something the second time, it’s usually not good. [Why is this still amazing?] [Addicted] [(Obviously he likes it)] It also tastes like ramyun soup. Right. Ramyun made with beef bone soup! Exactly! Tastes like home-made beef bone soup

With ramyun soup! It kind of tastes like that. [Might be true] They might have imported Korean ramyun soup. [(Of course we didn’t)] [(Detailed explanation)] Like Yukgaejang soup. You’re right. Also because of rice, it tastes like Spicy Noodle Soup with Beef too. [Good to feel the taste of] [the hometown abroad]

[The more he eats, the more he sweats] [And the bowl is getting empty] I want to hold a bowl and eat it. But even though it’s so good, I have to respect the culture here. [He respects the culture] [but is playing a music instrument] Koreans who eat a lot of soup

Will eat three to four bowls of this. [How much is this?] How much is it per bowl? It’s 120 lira. [(In Korean won) / About 6,000 won) This is not cheap considering Turkiye prices. It’s expensive. But this is healthy food. So it has to cost much. [Can’t miss even a drop]

[(A new tip) / (With bread)] [Last bite] [(I ate it all, again…)] Your food hasn’t come out yet? No. [(Kidding)] I’m gonna steal two spoons of your food. [That was amazing] Some foods are liked by everyone regardless of nationality. For example, thick meat broth. “Everyone likes rich meat soup!” Right?

(Ate too much) I think I should walk to the hotel. If you eat this much, you should usually feel uncomfortable in your stomach. But I’m totally fine. That’s very amazing. It might be because it’s healthy food. [For Korean members] A tip for Korean tourist.

[The last day of the trip] On the last day of the trip, [Dying for Korean food] there may be moments like this. Like even though food here is delicious, you don’t feel well because it’s foreign food and you can’t eat Korean food. And you’re dying for Korean food.

[Then you need Beyran] You need this. [If the restaurant sells rice, eat rice with it] If there’s rice, have Beyran with rice too. Shall we go now? Shall we? Are you going to walk for real? [(We already walked a lot yesterday…)] [Then we should walk even more today] [I’m hungry Istanbul]

[(He really walked)] Okay. Can you walk to hotel? It’s across the ocean over there. I can swim then. [(Laughing)] [I’m hungry Istanbul]

  14. Highly recommended! The Beyran dish is so good, you guys need to try it at least once. I cant forget about it months after I first tasted it. Its that delicious.
