Let’s make some new england style clam chowder to get started we’re going to need about six pieces of sliced bacon a couple tablespoons of water helps pre-render that fat to get our bacon nice and crispy we’ll just reserve this for a topping later next right into those bacon drippings

We’re gonna pop in one large onion next up a couple ribs of celery a couple of cloves of garlic we’ll just chop those in there we’re also gonna add this large up healing russet potato just chop that in there next we’re gonna add one tablespoon of dill and about two teaspoons of salt

Along with fresh cracked pepper to taste next to thicken our chowder we want a quarter cup of flour let that cook for a minute in with our bacon drippings and vegetables and then we’re going to add two cups of whole milk we want to stir

Until it comes up to a simmer and then cover and cook on low for 30 minutes now all that’s left to do is to add one of these 10 ounce cans of clams juice and all let it come back up to a simmer and we’re ready to serve

  1. I don't know whether I'd ever had clam before but the thought of it isn't appealing. That base seems yum though, could probably eat it as is, without the clams.

  5. I just made it with hotdogs since no bacon and no potato since I didn't have, subbed Bello mushrooms in cubes and bell peppers. I used instant mashed potato mix for the taste and thickening and it's a great little trick if you dont have potatoes but want the taste and thickener aspect. It tasted excellent. Thank you for the recipe base
