Hello and welcome to cooking lessons for Dad where you’ll learn to cook healthy cook easy my name is Karen brayer and today we are making delicious Cajun potato wedges these are so good they’re so easy to make you can see there’s only four ingredients the ingredients in this
Recipe are russet potatoes cooking spray Cajun seasoning and kosher salt and that’s it so the first thing that we need to do is preheat the oven to 400 degrees and I’ve already done that next you need to line a baking sheet with foil and I’ve already done that so now
We’re gonna spray our baking sheet with cooking spray now we’re going to go ahead and rinse and scrub our potatoes under running water okay so next we need to pat dry our potatoes a clean towel or paper towel then we’re going to go ahead and cut them in wedges okay you want to
Cut them in 6 to 12 wedges thinner will be more crispy thicker will be more fork tender so cut them in half lengthwise then cut them and however many wedges you like I like thinner ok next we’re gonna go ahead and put our potato wedges on our baking sheet
And I’m going to cut my other potato as well I prepare about one potato per person depending on what else you’re serving how hungry people are next we’re going to spray our potatoes with cooking spray again this is going to help the seasoning stick and help make them
Crispy cajun seasoning smells amazing if you’ve never tried it before it smells so good I got this too in the book section of my grocery store so I could just buy as much as I wanted anyways it’s it smells so good so it’s pretty spicy so just sprinkle as
Much as you think you want okay so we’re gonna turn the potatoes over and do the same thing to the other side okay so we’re going to spray the other side some of these are kind of hard to do the sides so just do your best getting spray
And seasoning on both sides okay a little more so I forgot salt on the other side you want to put Cajun seasoning and salt on both sides so I’m going to sprinkle a little salt so you’re adding the seasoning to your taste I would add a little less salt now
And when you serve them people can add more salt if they like but we’ll have to get the other side maybe when we flip them I’ll put salt on the other side so next we’re gonna go ahead and put them in the oven okay we’re putting them in for 20
Minutes then we’re going to turn them we’ll add more salt at that time okay it’s been 20 minutes I mean it take out our potatoes and turn them over you can use a spatula or a fork next I’m going to go ahead and sprinkle the salt
That I forgot to put before okay I’m gonna put them back in the oven we’re gonna cook them about 10 to 15 minutes more or until your desired doneness brownness Chris penis okay we’ll check him again in about 10 minutes our Cajun potato wedges have been cooking at least
15 minutes longer you can see they’re getting pretty crispy and delicious so let’s go try them our Cajun potato wedges are finished they smell amazing I’m so excited to try them you can see how the thinner ones are a lot more crispy than the thicker ones so you can
Make them however you like them or you can make some of these let’s try them Look how delicious these are and they smell amazing I’m ready to try them I love any recipe that you can dip in ketchup but you could also dip it in ranch dressing sour cream if you want something healthy my tofu sour cream and chives recipe is really good and these
Are really healthy all they are is potatoes spices some cooking spray one potato per person and I’m ready to try it they’re so good they’re so easy to make to try them and I’ll see you in the next lesson
