I tried konjac noodles a few times and they always lacked flavour. Today I’ve decided to cook some shrimp and chorizo for dinner and the unused packs of noodles in the corner were giving me the eye, so I’ve decided to give them another try. They worked brilliantly in this recipe!

Ingredients:

– 4 garlic cloves
– half an onion
– 250g shrimp
– 50/100g chorizo
– 50ml nandos peri peri sauce (or similar)
– salt and pepper as per taste
– as much butter as you like
– 1 pack 200g konjac noodles

Cooking process:

Start frying the diced onion and garlic at low heat for about 5 mins then add the shrimp, nandos sauce, chorizo, salt and pepper. Increase the heat almost all the way up and put a lid on the pan for about another 5 mins. Take the lid off and keep stirring until it simmers down almost completely. At the same time boil the noodles for about 5 mins and then add them to the pan with the shrimp, along with about 50ml of water from the same pot. Keep on stirring everything in the pan until the water evaporates and the noodles catch flavour. Enjoy!

how do you get past the rubbery texture of the noodles?

just too me it’s not a pleasant feeling eating them.

konjac noodles are literally indigestible. carba-nada low carb noodles available on amazon are light years better.
