Banana Split Trifle — Cool and Creamy Light Dessert

Banana Split Trifle
INGREDIENTS:
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix or Angel Food Cake Mix
1 Lg Pkg. Banana Pudding mix and 3-4 cups of milk
3 large bananas, sliced
1 ½ cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 ½ – 2 cups chopped fresh pineapple (or 6 oz can of crushed pineapple, drained)
1 Container – Cool Whip, thawed
1 Jar Maraschino Cherries, diced
½ C Pecans, chopped
¼ cup chocolate syrup
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare the cake and make sure it’s completely cooled before assembling the dessert.
Cut the cake into bite-sized pieces.
Prepare the pudding mix, I only used three cups of milk but you can use up to four cups of milk. In a trifle dish (or large salad bowl) break up the bite-size pieces, using half the cake for the first layer.
Top the cake pieces with half of the pudding, half of the bananas, half of the strawberries, half of the pineapple, half of the Cool Whip, half the Maraschino cherries, half of the chocolate syrup and half of the nuts.
Repeat all these steps with the remaining ingredients in the same order. Chill until ready to serve.

So Hi everyone i’m marie from southern country living and today i’m making a banana split truffle and you can use a pre-made angel food cake mix or you can also make your own or you can use uh just a regular cake mix like i’m fixing to do and i’ll make this um banana split

Truffle you know so some of the ingredients you can see them over here but i’m going to start right now by um making my uh cake layers and i hope everyone is having a great day today it’s beautiful right now here in georgia it’s been changing often um but that’s the way summertime

Is it’s beautiful right now but later on we may be having a big thunderstorm okay i’m gonna put my cape mix in my bow okay and i’m going to put three eggs in my bowl on a cup of water and a third of a cup of oil [Applause] whip this up

Okay i have that um looked up now and so on this here is a um glass baking dish that i’m baking money in and i usually um turn my oven down a little bit when i’m using a glass baking dish i’m going to be cooking my cake mix

At 325 for about 25 to 30 minutes and i’ve already sprayed it like i said you the fast and easy way would be to use an angel food um cake that was pre made but i didn’t have one today so this works awesome use what you got okay

Okay i’m gonna put this in the oven and when i come back we’ll start on the rest You say take me on a treasure hunt i long for something new Have you heard the fairies when they sing and dance night when i close my eyes i see All right everyone my cake has just cooled off and so i’m gonna put it in my bow i’m gonna put about half of it in and like i said you could just if you wanted to do it the fast and easy way you could have just got you uh

Uh angel food cake already prepared but i was going this route today it’s almost looks like cornbread let’s see all right i’m getting a workout here i think this is about enough right here for the first part of it okay now then i’m going to set this aside

Right over here for a minute and i’ll put my pudding mixture in here it seemed to use on a large one but our store didn’t have one i’m putting in two banana cream uh pudding mixes okay and i’m going to be putting in three cups of milk now don’t put in four the

Um directions on the box say put in two cups for each you don’t want to do that you just want to put in three cups and just feed this that and you don’t want let it get real thick either you want to let it beat it until it’s still a little bit creamy

Okay work today for this dessert i could use the beta but it was get everything over here this is when we made some grandkids in here all right so now i’m going to go in with my pudding mixture i think i’m going to go in with this little thing right here

And just kind of spread this all over here i can really smell this banana and this good mixture it smells really good okay so now i’m going to be putting in by bananas so make sure i get them off okay there we go all right so now then we’re gonna put in some

Strawberries i’m gonna put about a half of these in okay all right and then i’m gonna put in about a half of these um pineapple bits you can put crushed pineapple in if you want to but i put pineapple chunks in okay Okay so now i’m gonna put in some cool So okay and the next thing i’m going to do is put in some cherries okay and now i’m going to put on some masks a okay so now we’ll put in some more cake layers so all right i think my truffle’s getting bigger than my bow y’all Okay now then let’s say i’m going to start again with my pudding and it got thick on me now that’s what we didn’t want happening okay all right now then i’m putting some more bananas so so i almost need my glasses on to do this okay got that in there

Okay now i’m gonna put in my getting strawberries marie that’s looking awful good it’s looking awful tall i can say that for oh that’s not going to be a problem that’s just going to be more to eat looking very delicious i could have used my big old punch bow for this

Sweet little leaves there trying to get in the picture okay now then i’ll do my pineapple and like i said you can use crushed pineapple on this if you don’t want those big pineapple pieces okay all right now then i got my pineapple on there

So now i’m gonna go in with my cool whip okay now i’m going to spray this cool whip on top and now then i’m putting my cue whip on top trying to get it smoothed out here okay i have my cool web spread out here

I think i’ve got more trifle than i do bow okay so now then let’s put some cherries on top but i think me and calvin can take care of this trifle really good even if it is ever flowing the bow okay i’m gonna put some nuts on it

You don’t like nuts you don’t even have to put them on it if you don’t want them orange heroes [Applause] [Applause] okay okay i think that’s enough notes okay something i’m gonna put my um chocolate syrup on it okay here’s my banana split trifle it’s looks really yummy and i can’t wait to

Uh dig into this and so i guess it’s time for me to do the taste test okay so now it’s time for me to do the taste test whoops i’m trying to get away okay hmm this is very delicious It tastes really amazing it is well worth the trouble so y’all can see i’ve done took a little dent out of it but it was really pretty on this art it’s really easy to do you can make your cake um the night before and um and also you can get your angel
