So every year for Christmas I make cinnamon swirl bread; and it’s a long and arduous process. And then we cut it into slices; and we make French toast out of it on Christmas Day. This year I’m going to make a quick Cinnamon French…I mean cinnamon bread swirl bread…quick cinnamon swirl bread.

So we’re going to start with four cups of flour,… two cups of sugar,… two teaspoons of baking soda… and a teaspoon of salt Whisk this together. Then I’m going to add two cups of buttermilk. I’m going to add a half a cup of vegetable oil… and two eggs.

All right we’re going to set aside that; and then we’re going to make our cinnamon swirl filling. So I have a cup of sugar,… six teaspoons of cinnamon. We’re just going to mix that together. That looks good. Now I’m going to fill…

I have four baking pans, bread pans, that I’ve already sprayed with cooking spray. So I’m going to put about one scoop… of the dough in the bottom. One giant scoop with my ladle. Maybe a little more, just to cover the bottom of the pan, like that. I’m going to take the cinnamon sugar…

I’m going to get a spoon. So we’re going to take our cinnamon sugar mixture. I’m just going to sprinkle into the middle… of the pan. And I don’t want to use all of it, because I’m going to sprinkle more on top. But you want to get enough… that you have completely covered…

The batter that’s in the bottom of the bread pan. Now I’m going to put another scoop on top… of each one. Just like that. And it’s okay if the cinnamon isn’t completely covered. We’re just going to add more cinnamon sugar anyway. And then we’re going to bake this in a 350° oven for about 45 minutes.

And there we go. Three hundred and fifty degrees, 45 minutes and we’ll be back. So our cinnamon swirl bread was in the oven for about 45 minutes. It is now out and done. We’re going to let it cool for about 2 or 3 hours. And then we’re going to make the glaze to go over the top.

So our cinnamon swirl bread was chillin’ overnight. Now I’m going to make the glaze for it. I have a half a cup of powdered sugar. I’m going to add two teaspoons of milk. And then we’re going to stir and see if it’s the right consistency. If it is I don’t need to add any more milk. But I might,…

If it doesn’t…if it’s too thick. I would say that’s too thick. Okay so I’m going to add two more teaspoons. And this is just a game of what consistency do you like. If you like it, you know, a thick, like you can pipe it on, then don’t add as much milk. If you like to just…

Drizzle over the top and have a very loose glaze, then you add more milk. And this is truly a preference thing. This is not about what’s right or wrong. It’s what you prefer. Okay so this is the drizzle I like,… because I like to be able to just drop it on, like that.

Now I’m going to take a spoon,… put that to the side,… get a spoonful of it… and just drizzle from the top of my spoon… across the top of the bread,… just like that. And of course, if you want more glaze, by all means double the amount.

It doesn’t… It is all up to you and your preference. It has nothing… It won’t hurt it. It won’t… Everything is how you like it. And there we are. Cinnamon swirl bread is finished.
