your dates build yeast. You would survive it but i wouldnt eat it anymore 😀

I’ve never seen this, but I can think of maybe three possibilities:
-Sugar Coating
-Yeast Growth
-Cellulose Coating (I know it’s done with cheese, not sure about dates though)

Is this straight out of the package? I’ve never seen that.
Edit: [this page](https://www.eatortoss.com/white-stuff-on-your-dates/) says it’s sugar. It may happen when the dates have been stored for a long time.
