Ingredients:
1 chopped onion
1 chopped red bell pepper
1 chopped green bell pepper
1 lb Italian sausage
4 minced garlic cloves
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp better than bouillon chicken base
1 tbsp basil pesto
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp creole seasoning
2-3 bay leaves
1/4 c parmesan cheese
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 egg
1 tsp chopped parsly
14 oz diced tomatoes
28 oz marinara sauce
mozzarella cheese
ricotta cheese
parmesan cheese
16 oz ziti noodles

Let’s make some delicious baked ziti using these few ingredients. What’s up, everybody? Welcome back to the channel. And as you’ve seen from the introduction, we are gonna be making some baked ziti. This week was my first time making baked ziti. I did a few variations of the recipe.

So I came up with something that I like, that I .Think is gonna be an amazing product, and I’m sharing it with you guys. If you guys make it, let me know how it turns out. So let’s jump right into it. Okay. So first, we’re gonna start off by dicing up our onion.

Green bell pepper. Okay. So now that the vegetables are all cut up, I’m gonna add some olive oil to my pan. And what we’re gonna start doing is we’re gonna start sauteing our vegetables that we have cut up so we can build up that that nice aromatics.

So I’m going add my vegetables to the pan, and we’re just gonna stir these up and let them cook Until they get nice and soft and another thing is, guys, you don’t have to put bell pepper in here, if you don’t want to, you can just use onion.

Or if you don’t wanna put onion, you can just use bell pepper. But when I was working on this recipe, I kinda liked The color and the taste that the onion, the green bell pepper, and the red pepper gave to the recipe. Okay.

So now that my vegetables have softened up a little bit, I’m gonna go ahead and add in my Italian sausage. Now if you’re not a pork person, you can also use ground turkey or ground beef, whichever one you like, whichever one you prefer. You can also use a mixture of either protein.

So what we’re gonna do is we’re just gonna break this Italian sausage up. As I was building this recipe, Uh, of course, it’s similar to a lasagna. Um, the layering of the recipe is gonna be similar to a lasagna. Um, the only difference is, you know, lasagna.

Lasagna uses straight pasta, And, of course, this recipe is ziti. So this is kinda more like we’re gonna be layering the little Noodles instead of the long flat pastas. Okay. So next, I’m a add in my garlic. And we’re just gonna let this cook until it gets nice and flavorant.

Like always, guys, if you could smell the aroma that is coming from this pot, it smells amazing. Garlic, onion, bell pepper It’s always a great smelling combination. Alright, guys. So next, I’m a amp the flavor up just a little bit more, And I’m a add in

Around a half a tablespoon better than better than bouillon chicken base. I always like to add a little bit of pesto to my Pasta dishes. So I’m adding a little bit of pesto to my pasta dishes, and I’m also gonna add some Tomato paste off in there.

And we’re just gonna stir it up. Okay. So now we’re gonna add in our seasonings. And like always, the ingredients are gonna be in the description box below, And it’s gonna give you each specific amount that I use for this recipe. Now you can adjust the flavor Profile to your liking.

Uh, you can omit, add seasonings if you want. All I’m here to do is kinda, like, give you the the the the bones of the recipe, and it’s up to you to build it however you wanna build it. Now I’m gonna add in my five roasted diced tomatoes Add some marinara sauce,

And let’s just give that a good mix up. And, guys, if you haven’t seen my video from my homemade marinara sauce, um, look at this video up here, And you will see a great video of some awesome pasta sauce that I made. Gonna add some parsley.

Guys, like I said, this recipe is gonna be flavorful, Delicious. When I was putting it together, I was amazing myself. Like I said, this is my first week actually getting into this recipe, And I’m really happy with the results. Okay, guys.

So now I’m just covering this and let this cook on simmer For about twenty minutes so it can get nice and thick, and all those flavors can marry together. And we’re also gonna and we’re also gonna put our pasta noodles on, and And we’re gonna cook them until they become al dente.

So you don’t wanna fully cook your pasta, and then put it in the oven and let it cook some more. Then you’re gonna have some Mushy pasta, and we don’t want that. So cooking out the inside. We’re gonna mix it up, put it in the oven, and it’s gonna turn out perfect.

And I’m also gonna start working on my ricotta cheese mixture. Let’s get it. Okay. First, let’s chop up some parsley. Okay. Now we’re gonna add some ricotta cheese to our bowl. We’re gonna add in some Parmesan cheese. We’re gonna add in some of our chopped parsley, Some Creole seasoning.

And for a little extra spicy kick, some red pepper flakes. And one egg. And we’re just gonna get this all a good mix. Okay, guys. My sauce has finished cooking, and it is looking delicious. It’s smelling delicious, and it tastes delicious. Okay?

Uh, my noodles are finished boiling, so what I’m gonna do, I’m officially go drain them real quick. So I’m a walk over here and grab my noodles, And we’re just gonna drain these noodles. And we’re gonna add them back to the pan. This is my little hot water section over here.

Now what I wanna do quickly Is add some of the sauce to my noodles. That way they can help, um, help them not stick together. So I’m just add just a little bit of my sauce to my noodles, and we’re just gonna mix that up.

And that will also help break up any noodles that may be Stuff together. K. So now that we have everything prepped up and ready to go, let’s start putting this baked CD together. So what I wanna do, I wanna start off by adding a little sauce to the

Bottom of my pan, and that will help the noodles not stick to the bottom. Like I said, guys, this is very similar to creating a lasagna. Now I’m gonna take some of my noodles and just spread them To the to my baking dish. K. There we go.

Spread some sauce over the Top of the noodles. Then we’re gonna take some of our ricotta cheese mixture, and we’re just gonna just Dab it onto our noodles. You don’t have to be all neat with it. Here we go. Go ahead with some Parmesan cheese. And did I mention it’s gonna be cheesy?

Not only delicious, but cheesy. Let’s top it off with some mozzarella. Now I’m gonna add, um, some more noodles to the top. And now we’re gonna add the remaining sauce to the top of our noodles. And we’re just gonna spread the sauce out on top of the noodles.

We’re gonna go back in with some the rest of our ricotta cheese. Some more of our shredded Parmesan. And we’re gonna finish it off with a mozzarella. So now that we have assembled the baked ziti, Now we’re gonna put it in

The oven at three hundred and fifty degrees until it gets nice and bubbly. Hey, guys. You see the final product. You see how delicious it’s looking. So what we’re gonna do now, I’m a add a little parsley on top of some garnish just to make the color pop a little bit more.

Okay, guys. Like always, let’s dig in for the taste test. On the money. It’s smacking. It’s delicious, flavorful. The noodles are cooked just right. All the seasonings are hitting on point. It’s on tens. Guys, it can’t get no better than this.
