This is just NEXT LEVEL! This pig likes to smoke! Hello and welcome to Catania! Join me on this incredible food journey through the ancient city of Catania Exploring the unique street food on the east coast of Sicily. Let’s go! Here I am in front of Serafino Express very famous local arancini shop where they

Make them on the spot and fry the fresh arancini We made our order and they have some arancini for display but actually once you make   your order they start making them fresh and frying them fresh so we just can’t wait and

Once ready they come here to drain some excess oil for another 2 to 3 minutes.   Okay, let’s open up this arancini. Oh… WOW! The first one is pistachio e gamberetti – pistachio cream and prawns. Plain pistachio arancino looking good. Spinach and ricotta arancino…

WOW! Full of creamy ricotta and spinach and very hot and fresh. and last but not least Bolognese one. OOH!!! The crunch the colors the smell just an insane arancino. Let’s try the spinach and ricotta one first. This is just a perfect snack! Very creamy ricotta combined with tasty spinach and rice.

Very fresh and amazing arancino but let’s go and try the Bolognese one. Lets dig in. Perfect arancino! Ragu sauce some boiled eggs, peas, chunks of meat. Very tasty rice and that incredible crunchy skin. Let’s go with pistachio arancino. Mild taste and very light arancino, perfect rice inside and the skin outside.

And the last arancino here is the one with the gamberi This is definitely a licking fingers good. Quite neutral pistachio cream combined with these prawns create a very unique seafood arancino. perfect food and inexpensive one as well Returning from the arancini shop we just had to stop at this amazing bakery.

My wife went on a crazy cake shopping spree so now we’re going to see   what kind of desserts she got. Mini rum baba, crispella and deep fried ravioli   cannolo Siciliano, insane looking rum baba, chocolate mouse, face and white chocolate mask. Very spongy pastry full of sweet syrup.

So delicious it just has that very recognizable taste of rum baba. Rum baba always puts a smile on my face.  Next on our sweet menu, typical Sicilian cannolo. WOW! This is just NEXT LEVEL!

The ricotta inside is so, so fine it’s actually like a vanilla pudding but it’s not it’s ricotta with some pistachios on the ends. The pastry is soft with some crunch on the outside. Tasty deep fried ravioli with   ricotta, deep fried sweet pastry called crispella. Okay the last thing I’m going to try is this crispella.

There’s honey, just amazing! To be honest we didn’t plan this after eating all   those arancinis, but once we saw how good this pasticceria this bakery and sweet shop look we had   to come in and try obviously many of these sweets and pastries.

Crazy sweet adventure at Pan Del Sole bakery, amazing pastries amazing sweets but we have to continue, so see you at the next place! This cute soft drink corner shop is typical of Catania and this is   a four generation owned shop we also had to stop here because it really

Look amazing we’re going to try some of the local very typical Catania soft drinks. Pineapple soft drink made with pineapple fruit, pineapple syrup and some fizzy soda Green mandarin. Lemon fresh. Red mandarin, lemon, green mandarin and … champagnino Green mandarin. Quite acidic bitter- sweet taste, excellent!

One our favorit stops while in Catania whenever we pass here we like to stop for this nice lemonade, cheers! I’m here at Fera o’ Luni Market in Catania and this place is absolutely crazy when it comes to food   a lot of local produce, vegetable, fruit, meat, fish, cheese you name it they have it.

Quite energetic, busy and crazy like the rest of the city. Local delicacy artichokes are stuffed with garlic and parsley  and then they are slow baked over the coal. Just across the road there is a very busy butcher shop with some very fresh looking meat. Some fresh eggs nearby.

And then this fantastic looking cheese and salami stall where you can actually try some cheese. Behind me is a cheese stall and this is definitely among the best smells on the market. let’s try some sheep cheese Strong taste and perfect creamy cheese. Let’s go with this spicy cheese. Not as creamy as the previous one but it has this

Great salty and spicy taste from that pepper as well. Smells wonderful, a local sweet lemon look at the size of it. Some beef insides and hooves and other meats as we are nearing by the local butcher shop corner. And a bit different butcher shop behind me this is all things pork. Liver and lungs different

Offal, head, stomach, hearts, tongues and the best part is that this pig likes to smoke.  On this side of the road is a Halal butcher shop and then just across the road is pork   meat specialized butcher, obviously these things can function even so close together.

Now Catania is very famous for its horse meat cuisine and this is our next stop. We are in Via Plebiscito and this   area is the most popular for grilled food there are plenty of restaurants and you   can see those barbecues fired up outside full of different meat. Horse polpette are

One of the most famous but there are other meats other foods as well so let’s check it out! Our food is here, we got horse patties or polpette di cavallo then we got pork   sausage then chipolata, spring onion wrapped in bacon and as a bonus we got this thin horse steak.

It’s a very thin cut it looks quite juicy so here we go. Easy to chew and very juicy it has that nice lemony taste probably from   that sauce they add after grilling. Very nice grilled meat. Next are horse patties, polpette di cavallo the meat is a bit pink inside which means it’s not overdone.

It’s quite nice, juicy. Outside you can feel that charcoal   taste from the grill this is a true local delicacy. Next is this delicious looking pork sausage. Homemade pork sausage, let’s go!   It has a structure like a ham it has a very nice smoky taste and a very nice crunchy skin. Amazing sausage!

And the last is chipolata, bacon wrapped spring onion. Lemony taste on top, nice and juicy onion, some very satisfying local food. On our way to the next place we bumped across this food stall where   there’s a whole roast pig, pork sandwiches, numerous condiments other grilled street food. It’s just incredible!

I probably said this already but this city is insane when it comes to food, wherever you go wherever you turn there’s food. Our sweet destination is behind me and this is a place called Choco-Fusion and these guys are all   about chocolate, frappes, milkshakes, ice creams, cakes and a lot of other sweet things you could wish for.

Any kind of Lindt chocolate or sweet produce is everywhere around me. The place is completely full with people, so we will have to wait for our table but once we get a free table we’re going to sit down. We ordered several different milkshake style frappes and they look just gorgeous.

This frappé is as tasty as it looks. Next day it was time to visit the famous fish market. I am at the Catania fish market this is   a second very well-known market in Catania and it’s much smaller than Fero o’ Luni but it has more of sea produce.

There are local restaurants at the market offering sandwiches, horse meat or any other kind of grilled meat. Once here, we decided to try the oysters. Very good. My wife was brave enough to try the oyster first so now it’s my turn. Actually it’s quite nice. You feel the lemon the lemon gives

The majority of taste. First time trying oyster it went well. Let’s continue. If Mad Max was a food movie this is how it would look like. Freshly caught swordfish being cut into fillets. When you think you cannot wish for more, there is a seafood boat behind me.

Both of these Catania markets are really authentic local places and unbelievable experience. Behind me is a Scirocco Sicilian Fish Lab very famous local seafood place, let’s check it out” Our food is here and we ordered fried veggies, fried seafood, octopus salad and swordfish caponata. Let’s squeeze some lemon on top of these fried goodies.

Crispy seafood mix made of calamari and anchovies they are quite, quite crispy but also a bit salty. Now all these deep fried veggies combined with some seafood. That Seafood cone quite salty but then combined with these veggies fantastic taste. Fried stuff was fun but let’s try this refreshing looking octopus

Salad made with bits of octopus, potatoes, celery, olive oil and some lemon juice. I was right about the lemon, but such a refreshing salad octopus is nice not chewy. And the last is traditional Sicilian caponata with a chunks of swordfish. This dish is just perfect the swordfish melts in your mouth and then this

Caponata is full of flavors recognizable eggplant and the other veg is making   caponata what it is. This place here is a great testimony to the street food of Catania. Catania is a very crazy and energetic city but also beautiful at the same time but what is more

Important it’s one of the best street food places in Europe for sure or maybe in the world. I hope you enjoyed this video and if you did please like and subscribe and I will see you next time, all the best.

  3. Možda i najbolja tura do sada, pravo uživanje.

  4. It is good to have camera focus on different dishes but you don't need to bring your mouth closer to camera when you're eating, please stop doing this😢

  5. Yet another yummi tour to be delighted with our products and quality.. you could spend a lifetime to discover what each city and region has to offer.Glad your kids and wife enjoyed it as well. You seem to be a genuine person and a good man and most of all you reply to everyone ,not like some others "celebrities" on this platform who dont give a damn about nothing but money. Greetings from your roman friend, statti bene e alla prossima.

  6. CIAO! Great job! BTW that was ragu arancino not Bolognese 🙂 Arancini plural. You must have been there in February because I see Carnivale specials and Saint Agata drapes from windows.
