Turkish Fig Pudding also known as Incir Uyutmasi is an easy to make, delectable, melt in the mouth, luscious pudding that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as dessert. Basically you need only 2 main ingredients, dried figs and milk. This dessert is sugar free and excellent indulgence for diabetics. This Turkish Fig Pudding is a traditional recipe, that probably comes way back from the Ottoman Empire times. Incir Uyutmasi translates as ‘sleeping figs’ as the figs are allowed to ‘sleep’ in the milk overnight. In reality, the figs help to ferment the milk to make a yogurt like consistency.
