Rookie here. 2x9W 6500K T8s per level. Can’t measure PPFD; lux is 2500. Will this work?

I am aware this is not ideal. **I don’t have the money for proper grow lights right now.** However, is there any chance this setup may at least produce some peppers? Or allow them to grow a few centimeters tall such that I can move them elsewhere.
I’ll be fertilizing them and such as expected. Really, the only concern is the light.

Can’t you measure the ppfd with one of the many light measuring apps like photone?

That is absolutely enough light. I use a single 6500K 1500lm light and that works fine. Just keep an eye on the distance to your plants. With these lights you can burn the plants if they are too close.

I use a cheap lux meter too, I have 15-20k using 2 led bars covering a width of 18”. I’d guess around 10k is a general enough amount. You might get some stretch, just put them as close as you can and leave light on at least 18-24 hours

That should definitely be enough light to get them started! Good luck! 🌶️

One of the cheapest ways to increase the lux of your setup, would be to tape a space blanket / Mylar blanket to the outside of your setup. It will help reflect the light back and increase the efficiency of your setup for nearly nothing. Try your best to get all 4 walls blocked in by the space blanket.
