In today’s video I show you how I make my favorite breakfast sandwich, The Sloppy Egg Sandwich. This is a quick and easy way to make the best breakfast sandwich. I simply toast a couple of pieces of bread or an English muffin, butter, add American cheese, then slap on my perfect runny fried egg. This sandwich can be whatever you desire. You can add different kinds of cheese, add bacon, ham or sausage. Add an onion and tomato if you choose.
The point being… It’s quick and easy and so much better than a fast-food breakfast sandwich. Not to mention it is so much cheaper and healthier for you. So grab your skillet and create your own delicious sloppy egg sandwich.

Oh hi you’re still here I’m going ahead and eat my sandwiches it’s going to be good welcome back everyone to cook it simple with Eric today we’re going to make one of my favorite sandwiches in the whole world I call them sloppy egg sandwiches some people call it a fried egg sandwich

Call it whatever you want I like sloppy egg sandwiches so today I want to show you two ways that I do it first is going to be on wheat toast the other it’s with a simple English muffin so the first thing we want to

Do is preheat the pan I like to start my Skillet out at low heat for about 5 minutes just kind of even out the pan temperature at a low temp I’m also going to put about 2 tablesp spoons of olive oil in it you can use vegetable oil if you like I’m just

Going to use olive oil so let me get that preheat real quick like said I have it set directly on low like so I’m just going to guesstimate two teaspoons close enough all right while we’re letting that do the preheat thing let’s go ahead and get our muffin in and our bread in

So I just like to take a fork stab it in to the muffin to break it open this will keep your nooks and crannies looking Good just like so let’s go ahead and throw those in I like mine little little crusters we’ll let that go here then we’ll just put our bread in get that toasted up so in the meantime while we’re waiting on that let’s go ahead and get our eggs in a

Bowl I just like to use a bowl I put all the eggs in the bowl at once so when I put them into the skillet everything Cooks at the same time same temp everything cuz eggs cook very quickly so you so you want to try to make it as even as

Possible try not to break your yolk so I’m doing three because when I do the sandwich on the wheat bread I like to use two eggs when I do the sandwich on muffins I just use one egg so I’ll bring you in close on this here

In just a minute but we have the eggs cracked in ready to go so in the meantime going to get my cheese prepped I just use American cheese you can use any kind of cheese that you like white cheddar would be great on it uh of course I have to keep a square

Out for Stewart and speaking of Stuart here he is here you bu later in the video after we get done cooking Stuart would like to meet everybody but I said before we have a gentleman’s agreement for every piece of cheese he gets a corner of it it’s pretty fair

Deal so now we just wait for our muffins and our toast to pop and I will butter them might well have a little bit of coffee while we’re waiting love coffee all right we’ll give that couple more minutes let’s go ahead and get our toast buttered there’s our

Muffins just goe and throw a piece of cheese on [Applause] it all right go and get our muffin good you can toast it lightly you can toast it heavily however you want to toast it all right there we got our tops and bottoms put our cheese on that all right

Now we should be ready to do our eggs so let’s going to bring you back for that just a sec okay it’s been about 5 minutes looks like our oil’s there let’s turn that up a little bit since it’s a smaller Skillet I’m going just lower medium just to get that

Put some butter in there cuz everybody knows I like butter probably not that much better the whole butter melting there good got a little Sizzle going on is what you hear it’s what we like to so let’s get that up to temperature now here you need to be

Careful because with a smaller Skillet the Flames like to shoot up over and and I have been had some fingers now here’s you need to go very slowly so speaking of I’m going to go in this way we need to go in very slowly so we

Don’t break any yolks ah good good good good there we go now I’m just going to cover it I don’t know about a minute and a half just until we see getting that nice oh yeah there you go nice little sizzling so this the Skillet’s smaller

So I want to cook it for just a little bit longer cuz on sandwiches I like mine to be a little thicker yolk or U like the egg whites to be a little bit thicker a little bit smaller otherwise I would cook it in a 10in skillet for the three eggs

So we’ll give that about another 45 seconds maybe time to add some pepper I’m going to put the pepper on top put that back on I’m not adding salt to these because I have cheese and I do try to watch my sodium and cheese has salt in

It I’m going to go ahead and it’s looking good I’m going to turn the heat off let’s give that another 30 seconds or so now here sometimes I like to add a smoked paprika to it which gives it a really really good flavor but today I’m not I’m just going

To let it do its thing real quick so you can see how the top of the eggs are just starting to turn a little bit white so at this point we really want to be careful if you want Sloppy eggs so we may go ahead and take that off oh yeah

Look at those beautiful eggs there we [Applause] go and if if you like round eggs you can cook them in those round things now you can see those are very extra sloppy I’ll just go ahead and give it one quick turn just for a few seconds you don’t have to but I

Do and a Brokey yolk so okay let’s go ahead and get the sandwich loaded up all right I had to take my other Skillet real quick so I could change camera angles that way that overcook so here we’re just going to load one up there put this one on

There cuz I did break that one a little bit at the end throw this one on there all right I little poke in the top there there you have it two beautiful sloppy egg sandwiches so it’s going you want to try I think I’ll try this [Applause] one as always super delicious all

Right thank you again for watching please like And subscribe try them out you’ll love it thank you again and as requested here’s St this is Stuart he loves cooking with me yep and I did make him a little bit of eggs right in front of me so I will feed that to him

So he’s looking again thank you and have a good day

  1. Great video. I actually have a ceramic round bowl (sometimes used for creme brulee) that I coat in oil and then use microwave the egg. They come out nice and round like at McDonalds.

  2. Thanks for showing Stewart. A bond between a man and his dog cannot be broken. A dog truly is a man's best friend. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with the rest of the world.

  3. I love fried egg sandwiches, but I never heard about this method, leaving the yolks intact and liquid. Can't wait to try it! Thank you for sharing with us.
