Let me show you a simple recipe with a lot of flavor, Spicy Rice and Chickpeas a meal that you and your friends can enjoy.
Chickpeas are a good source of fiber, proteins, vitamins and minerals.
Coupling with the fragrant basmati rice, onion, garlic, red chili and a bunch of spices only ensures this meal is both aromatic and healthy at the same time.

Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice
2 cups chickpeas cooked
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion finely diced
5 garlic cloves
1 red chili pepper
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1 + 1/2 cups vegetable broth
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Serve with: yogurt, pickles, fresh salad, a squeeze of lemon

Hello friends 👋 Welcome to our channel! Let’s prepare together a delicious meal! Spicy Chickpea Rice We will need 1 cup of basmati rice. Wash the rice until the water remains clear. Crush and chop finely 5 garlic cloves. Slice finely 1 red chili pepper 🌶️ .

Heat a pot over medium heat and add 2 tbsp olive oil. Sauté 1 medium onion finely diced. Cook for 5 minutes or until the onion starts to soften. Add: slices of red chili pepper 🌶️ and chopped garlic. Sauté for another 2 minutes.

Add spices: 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp sweet paprika, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix and add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes 🍅 . Now it’s time to add the rice, washed before.

For liquid we will use 1 + 1/2 cup vegetable broth. Mix to combine all together. Add 2 cups of cooked chickpeas on top. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes. Do not mix the rice!!! We don’t want mushy rice!

When the rice is done cooking, mix slowly to fluff and combine the rice with the chickpeas. Taste and season with salt and ground black pepper to your preference. Cover and rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve fresh with a dollop of yogurt, pickles, or maybe a fresh salad with a squeeze of lemon 🍋 . Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Thank you for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe! See you next time my friends!
