3 Super Easy Ways to Perfectly Melt Chocolate | You Can Cook That | Allrecipes.com

Here are three easy ways to melt chocolate when it comes to the chocolate that you’re going to melt you just need to remember a couple short facts first of all get them into smaller pieces i really prefer to melt chocolate chips because they’re just already the perfect size to begin melting

If you start with a larger bar just cut it into smaller pieces this will help it melt more evenly and prevent scorching also what kind of chocolate is best for melting it’s best to choose a chocolate that has at least 32 percent cocoa butter in it semi-sweet is a great

Choice it’s readily available it’s pretty inexpensive you can go up from there bittersweet is good or dark chocolate the one chocolate i would stay away from is milk chocolate because that’s just better for snacking i would be remiss if i didn’t start with the proper way to melt chocolate

And it’s also super easy this is the double boiler method a double boiler is simply a pot with a couple inches of water that you bring to simmer and then you place a heat proof bowl on top and now you have a double boiler we’re going to put our chocolate right

In here and get the process going yes it really is just this easy there’s a couple things to remember first you want to use a rubber spatula versus a wooden or metal spoon because those can retain moisture a little bit and the second thing to remember is that moisture is melting chocolate’s

Worst nightmare the water even a small amount just a couple drops can make the chocolate seize up so we don’t want that also keep your heat low you do just need a little bit of patience that’s the only thing required you do not need any extra ingredients

You’re really one ingredient away from a perfect dessert however if you do want a melted chocolate that’s a little smoother shinier and a little more runny you can add in a couple teaspoons up to a tablespoon of coconut oil this is going to add sheen and make the texture a little looser

When it’s just about melted you can go ahead and cut the heat off the residual heat will melt the rest and you don’t want it to get too hot now that was pretty easy but i’m about to get easier probably the easiest way to melt chocolate is in the microwave

It is a little more temperamental so you got to be careful but still super easy and probably the fastest way to melt chocolate all you need is a heat proof bowl i really like to use a measuring cup here because the handle stays cool and it’s just easy

To get in and out of the microwave all we do is pop this in the microwave for 30 seconds we’ll give it a stir and then we will blast it in 15 second intervals until it’s melted exciting isn’t it it’s really worth it to take your time

And stir in those 15 second intervals this will promote even melting if you don’t do that the chocolate will burn and seize up on the sides let me show you you can definitely see burnt chocolate isn’t nearly as pretty and there we go perfectly melted chocolate

When you want to melt chocolate and you don’t want to be bothered with any stirring or any fuss break out the slow cooker this is also a great option if you’re having a party and you just want to set this out for people to come by and serve themselves

I’ll show you just how easy this is don’t blink or you’ll miss it all you do is put your chocolate in the slow cooker yes it’s just that easy put the top on turn it on low occasionally when you walk by your crock pot just give it a little stir and then it’s

Ready to dip your strawberries your brownies your cookies whatever your heart desires it’s perfectly melted and like i said this is perfect for a party you can set out a platter of things to dip speaking of dipping things into melted chocolate another tip is to make sure that your

Fruit or anything you’re dipping is super dry like i said earlier water is melted chocolate’s worst nightmare so make sure the water is all dried off so that the chocolate will adhere better that was pretty painless now you have all the tools you need to melt chocolate perfectly in three easy ways

  1. I just needed to watch this because that’s what I really fumbled on when making a yoghurt patty. The melted chocolate was too thick.

  2. I assure you, the women who do this sort of thing, claiming how easy it is (Martha Stewart is the queen of them all), making it all look so simple… They are clearly practicing witchcraft.

  3. Thank you and you made it very easy . My daughter and I are experimenting with snacks And the little tips are very helpful but one about the water cause that was my first mistake the coconut oil I would have never had thought that it Thank you

  4. Hello, I do my chocolate melting in the microwave and I've just spent an hour trying to find someone to simply tell me what the purpose of adding coconut oil to chocolate when melting it and does this make your chocolate soft with no 'SNAP' to it? I also noticed you didn't 'Seed" the chocolate and am wondering why? Please explain, Thank you.

  5. Is there anything you would suggest for melting white chocolate? should white chocolate also have 32% cocoa butter? I want to make chocolate dipped pretzels but I'm more partial to the white chocolate than dark chocolate.

  6. It's 8pm and my 5th grader wants to make chocolate covered strawberries for her class…. for tomorrow. I don't have a double boiler but I'm so happy I saw your video. The glass bowl over a pot of water should work great. Thanks!

  7. OMG I was trying to make strawberries for my girlfriend on valentines day. This video saved me because I was burning it!
