This Smoked Salmon and cream cheese on a bagel is a perfect option for for breakfast, lunch or dinner or a quick snack

Ingredients:

-1 bagel (per person or 2 mini bagels)
-Smoked Salmon – I used Snacks Smoked Nova Salmon – Comes in 8oz pack.
-Cream cheese of your choice – I used Original Philadelphia (light option also available)
-Capers – I used Mezzetta Non-pareil Capers (Non-Pareil means that it is the best in flavor and texture)
-Red onion cut in thin round slices
-Tomatoes cut in slices – I used Campari tomatoes or tomatoes on the Vine – These are so much tastier for me (you can use the tomatoes of your choice.. grape tomatoes, plum tomatoes etc)
-Lemons… or limes. 🙂

On a plate gather all of the ingredients that you will assemble on the bagel

Here we go!

1.Pre cut your bagels in half. – set aside for toasting later
2. Cut the onions and tomatoes in slices – as thick or thin as you like
3. lay out slices of the smoked salmon
4. Cut your lemon in wedges and pour a handful of capers on a small dish (no liquid from the capers)
5. place some cream cheese on a small dish

Now that all your ingredients are ready…

Toast your bagel

Assembling order –
-Spread desired amount of cream cheese on both sides of the bagel
– Lay out a bed of the smoked salmon on the bagel
-Place first layer of largest onion ring on top of salmon and capers inside that onion so they don’t fall off the bagel (thank me later) layer the rest of the onions staggered so that you are not bitting at all the onions at once.
-Place the tomato slices
-Squeeze a generous amount of lemon

NOTE: You do not need to add salt as the capers give it that salty taste

Add top half of bagel and enjoy the warmth of the bagel with the smooth cream cheese spread, the slight fishy salmon, the crisp pickled onions with salty capers and the tomatoes all covered with the lemon juices… YUM!

ENJOY, LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE. 🙂
